some of my recommendations i'll definitely second the curtis chip - his new ep on zod is great. its a mix of creative sounding/ultraglitchyness, simple melodies and beats. all the zod stuff is worth checking out for sure (emotional joystick, soplerfo, exillion also came out recently) if you can get a copy, the electromecca 10" on casse-tete is amazing. similar extremely tore-up hip/glitch/hardcoreness, unlike much else. m.tillman's got a bunch of new releases lately, very solid melodic/hiphop tempo stuff. his toytronic ep is on the more ambient tip, but its very rich. everything boombip has been doing has been spot on. Kadah Vresky's EP on dub is very good...abstract, although mostly downtempo in feel. Adam Johnson's EP on merck is some very solid stuff that will appeal to most "idm" fans. |
