How could you not love this beautiful album? You may like Double Figure or RPC better, but come on....this album is so cute and colourful. It makes me feel like a little kid.

333 rocks. it is probably their most diverse and interesting album. Probably my fav of all plaid releases.
on the other hand i thought their new remix album, parts in the post, could have been better.

double figure bored the crap out of me for the most part.
dry and cluttered, is what i call it. of course, there are a few exceptions. i like squance, assault on precinct zero, zala, lightrain. but its just a mess to me. in my opinion, the BEST songs are the tak songs. they should have extended those and made the whole album sound like those. i was so let down when i first checked out the tracks on napster when it leaked.
but, generally, plaid does better work than most people (for me), so its still something i listen to.
not for threes, is probably my favorite though. but i like restproof for equal reasons.
ALL IN ALL, im looking foward to the new plaid album. been constantly searching for any signs of it. tracknames/titles/mp3s.
if any of you find this information please notify me with it. would be much appreciated.

It's my least favourite plaid-release. I love Restproof, double figure and p-brane. But somehow this one doesn't touch me in the same way.
I didn't like it at all when i first bought it, and i'll admit it has grown on me a little since then. Most of the tracks are okay, and some of them are really nice.
But overal i think there is
-too much focus on the rhythms and not the melodies.
-too much singing
-the first track is really tedious and also quite long. The prospect of having to listen to that one first usually makes me decide on another cd when i'm trying to pick an album to listen to. And i don't want to be one of those people that skips songs.

yes, kortisin is one of the tracks that i really like.
But i must say Milh has never stood out to me. It just seems like one of the tracks, nothing special. I'll pay extra attention to it next time.

i love not for threes. first plaid I ever bought. gotta love headspin and the track that starts out with cute little kick and punch sounds from a video game. Has a really awesome vibe through the whole thing. That's the cd that got me hooked on them

i firmly agree; not for threes definitely kicks it. more so than any other plaid record in my opinion. i love what they do with vocals. track ten (i believe it's track ten, there are vocals and strings and other assorted goodies) is one of my favorite songs of all times. i also have to say, plaid goes well with bjork, and lilith is a fantastic song. (and the artwork is better than on their other releases!)

"Geeeez.....what would we say about Autechre if that was our line of reasoning."
Well the thing is that autechre can make very interesting and beautiful rhythms and beats. But when i listen to something like plaid or boc, i do so more for the melodies and atmosphere. The beats are just there support those things in my opinion. So when on NFT i heard some tracks based mostly around the rhythms i was kinda dissapointed.
Anyway, i listened to it again yesterday. Milh is indeed a nice one. The tracks that i do really like are kortisin, headspin, myopia, ladyburst, rakimou, ol, forever & milh. That's not a bad score... but i think they have come a long way since that album. I like RPC better than NFT. I prefer double figure over RPC. And i think the 4 tracks on p-brane are their best work to date. If they can keep this up, i can't wait for the next album :-D
"(and the artwork is better than on their other releases!)"
i very much disagree :-p The Restproof...-artwork is about a 1000 times better if you ask me. It could well be my favourite artwork on a warp-album. It also fits with the music just perfectly. A strange childish colourful machine. Just look at that machine on the cover and imagine what kind of music it would make... --> music like Little People & New Bass Hippo! :-)

I'm so jealous of all of you Plaid listeners...
Their CDs are a little hard to find here, but there are a few available. I've wanted Double Figure for so long, but never actually bought it. I'm going to make sure it's my next purchase for sure...
I also saw Not For Threes. The case was really cracked though, and stuff like that puts me off. I'll listen to it, if I like it buy it, then change the case as soon as I get home!!

I think that's the song that scared me to death the first time I heard it stoned. Is that the one that sounds like a bunch of machines puking to a beat? (too lazy to turn on the album myself).
