check this out some guy from other music in nyc wrote a
review of boom bips new release.

here is what he wrote:

In this weeks update: boom blip 12"

My favorite of the 4 tracks comes from
the threatening group Venetian Snares. They rip "The
Unthinkable" into a
fevered frenzied cut and paste, stuttering drums workout.

i just think its funny that whoever wrote this review
doesn't know shit about the musicians they are trying to
write a review for. what do you guys think?

that IS really damn funny (for those who don't get it, it's
"boom bip" and vsnares is one guy). and that's supposed to
be one of the world's finest record stores too.

Sometimes people refer to an act or artist as "group", even
if it is one guy. Although, he does say "they". I don't
know. Considering the Blip typo, he probably has no clue.

You have to give the reviewer credit for listening to it
though. Most people go through life without ever hearing any
experimental or non-mainstream music.

well I don't give credit to emplyees who think they are the
shit because they work at other music and then make shit
reviews.

that is true he liked it. I dson't know I mean I would think
they would try a little harder b4 putting something out like
that, other music is supossed to be a top quality place to
get new music and info on underground musicians, you don't
want someone reading that shit and then thinking that boom
bip is boom blip and vsnares is actually a quartet

i may be reading this wrong i know vsnares is 1 man but is
vsnares boom blip or do you just mean boom blip is 1 man as
well

the thread was about the reviewer messing up boom bips name
(boom blip) and saying that v snares is a group.

I did graphics for a bit, it was fun. I make music now. I
stayed at my friends in philly a few months back, we went to
other music and they've got some good stuff but 50% of the
staff are wankers really

I went to a small shop on south st and got some nice
things...Other music 'workers' seem to be a bit too full of
themselves. there's some cool stuff there though.

shmoo.
his review is crap, regardless of his ignorance.
not to mention wrong. and poorly punctuated.
his editor ought to be thrown to hungry dogs or pigs or
whatever's eating people these days
