A country of southwest Europe comprising most of the Iberian
Peninsula and the Balearic and Canary Islands. Inhabited
since the Stone Age, the region was colonized by Phoenicians
and Greeks and later ruled by Carthage and Rome (after 201
B.C.). Barbarians first invaded Spain in A.D. 409 but were
supplanted by Moors from North Africa (711-719), who
organized a kingdom known for its learning and splendor. The
Moors were gradually displaced by small Christian states and
were ousted from their last stronghold, Granada, in 1492.
Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile then became
rulers of a united Spain, which became a world power through
exploration and conquest. After the empire was lost in the
18th and 19th centuries, Spain experienced social and
economic unrest that culminated in the Spanish Civil War
(1936-1939) and the rise of Francisco Franco. After Franco's
death in 1975 the monarchy was restored under King Juan
Carlos, who oversaw the creation of a parliamentary
democracy. Madrid is the capital and the largest city.
Population: 39,143,000.

If you are stopped by the police look them straight in the
eye and say "Dios! Vas a callarte?" which will help you not
get arrested.

Say "puta" to the girls. You'll score big time.

Also, Spain is next to Portugal

I WAS THINKING LIKE, YOU COULD GIVE ME SOME ADVICES I

I gave you good advise...what would have happened i you
turned up and didn'y know it was a country. You might have
thought it was made of water and drowned.

Also my advice for dealing with the police is the best you
can get.

My Spanish is rather weak but "Dios! Vas a callarte" means
"God i'm going to silence/kill? you!"

alicante is not the best place to go really... not a
beautiful place, lots of tourists....
and for sure, no good music...

but anyway its up to you to have a great time.

the best music you can get at night might be in the
capital... or maybe in benidorm, but benidorm is full of old
people

its better if you go to any small village... but I dont... I
never go there for summer, cos my family are from canary
islands and we always go there
