anyone seen this film that came out in 2002 from mexico? I saw it last night and it was tarkovskyian at times but some of it didnt seem to fit together, but overall it was very solid and their were some awesome images and some that I wasnt exactly expecting or glad that i saw(a guy masturbating, horses having sex and the main guy having sex with an old woman) but i suppose they weren't there for no reasons obviosly, it was a well done film and I suggest anyone who likes tarkovsky's films to check this film debut out if you have the chance to. |

its a great film if your into spiritual jouryneys and self exploration. i reccomend it highly although those scenes i mentioned werent exactly fun to watch if you catch my drift heh. |

i'm not sure i EVER wanna see horses going at it......however cute the lil pony's are ......ehehheh i'll take your word for it with this one, i'm adventurous but i do draw the line at some things.....ehheheh sounds interesting tho |

just got home from the movies...all i can say : disturbing! without those scenes it would have been much more up to my likings, i love this "silent" movies, just nice images, gestures...but those scene were just too explicite imo |

btw, scene with that horse sex - i wouldnt mind showing two horses having sex, but why close up the penis!? it would really be a much better film without those scenes - at least not that explicit! |

i read some more information about the film today - apperantly film won awards for best director and actor it makes me wonder why they picked the actor...because he masturbated infront of a camera? having sex with 90 year old woman?...he was good i agree, but i saw many better performances - tho im sure many would disagree :) |

i thought it was really good but i didnt understand the necessity of them showing the horsesex. the masturbating and sex with the woman made sense--those scenes werent meant to be enjoyed it was just meant to show the state that he was in--ie he needed those to make himself more spiritually stable. the end sequence was amazing...you agree on that right? |

i hope he makes a new film soon because he definately has the potential to make something even better than japon--good first start--had its weaknesses but all in all it was definately a well made film. |

well, if you think those other two scenes necessary that horse sex one was in place as well - it kind of prepared the viewer on what is coming after that, what was guy thinking of - perhaps it even stimulated him :) i agree on the last sequence...i enjoyed most of the film really, but i'd like it much better without those scenes |

i definately understand you, they could have done without the scenes but i supposed they added something but thats a debatable i guess. |
