p. diddy trance artist

what's your opinion on the track "let's get ill" by p.
diddy featuring kelis? it premiered a few months ago, and a
whole album of dance/trance/house tracks by p. diddy will
eventually follow it. this track was produced by darren
emerson (ex-underworld dj) and diddy is also working with
timo maas and i believe BT.

sounds like a trainwreck to me but those are often the most
interesting things to hear once or twice..

BT did the N'Sync album with that 'dirty pop' song on it.

true and BT did an actually damn good britney spears b-side
called "i run away" (ok, her vocals suck but it's a pretty
well done song)

anyone downloaded the BT album that leaked? it's supposed to
have guru from gang starr, scott mcloud from GVSB, peter
gabriel on an "autechre goes 'world music'" style track, and
more..

the only BT song i've heard that i really enjoyed was the
song w/ m. doughty (the only collaboration that's been
released, that is): "never gonna come back down". amazing
track, just fun music.

oh man.. i hated that..
..combining certain decent aspects of music with that
mindless rendundant pop..

why doesn't bt use his musical gifts on something more
worthwhile and important, or at least collaborate with other
actual good musicians like what he did on the track with
Doughty like titsworth just mentioned..

yeh,
i've said it before but, the production value on that N'Sync
album is pretty mind boggling if you can bring your self to
listen to it. don't let any of your tough guy friends know
though.

cuz i bet he gets paid mad C-notes 'n shit. i'll bet he gets
at least 100 g's just to step into the studio for a day.

well he could still make a lot of money collaborating with
halfway decent artists..
it just makes his true fans, and potential fans have less
respect for him..
i could see maybe doing a remix for nsync, and making it
into something good.. but i don't know why someone like him
would like to stoop to their level, and actually work with
them, and let them put their "singing" over his musical
creations..
..just my opinion..

me too, it has some really great tracks on it.. i haven't
listened to it since the '90s but i loved all of biggies'
verses as well as everybody's verses on "it's all about the
benjamins" (bad catch phrase, pretty well done lyrics so
long as you don't compare them to a kweli, rakim, andre
3000....). (mad) skillz used to ghostwrite for puffy so any
clever one liners from puffy you can credit to skillz, who
really is gifted.

q4: BT just took the neptunes route, collaborating w/
whoever is rich/well-funded & genuinely interested..
proceeds go to their own artistic endeavors (BT solo records
and touring, and N*E*R*D/Kelis/Kenna/Clipse/Roscoe,
respectively)

i agree with you on the neptunes thing..
it seemed like they actually had some decent interesting
music to begin with.. now it seems like they just keep
churning out the same music with the same beat over and
over, but with some different lyrics and with a different
relatively untalented collaborator..

Why DIDNT BT credit Kevin Beber on his last ALBUM....hmmm,
he did half of the work on the tracks...BT seems to be a
wanker to me.....

it's a really silly name, it's good for people to poke fun
at themselves.. are you named after the episode of family
guy where peter asks cleveland's son to call him mr.
drummond?

btw q4 keep checking out NERD and kelis, the neptunes save
their best beats nowadays for these artists and other folks
on their star trak label. also they seem to give jay-z some
of their best work.

I heard him perform the track live...he and a couple of
skanky hos...it sucked to say the least. The problem with
him is that he has no restraint. However beautiful the
backing sounds made by Darren Emmerson are, there is only so
much that can be heard over P. Fuckky Diddy grunting 'ugh!
ugh!' all over it. The guy is a schmuck and should stick to
doing schmuckalicious things like dating J-Lo.

most cliched, dull and lame one ANYBODY could have come up
with...I mean...'lets get ILL?' ...ILL ? I mean
seriously...sheesh!

Is that the same Doughty who did the vocals on an 808 State
track - "Bond", off the Don Solaris album?

He sounds almost like Iggy Pop on that track. It's nice.

it's bascally a watered down version of joey beltrams
classic energy flash done in a billion pound studio - it's
realy awful -
i rad in last months muzik he was going "yeah i;'ve been
raving for years me, used to go down the (infamous late 70's
early eighties gay disco club) paradise garage."
the interviewer went wait a minute that woulda made you 11
at the clubs peak and he was like "yeah i startde young"
yeah like fuck mate give up

Well, he doesn't have any talent whatsoever for making
music, and it shows in his latest songs now that he stopped
using samples (read ripping complete songs).
His MC'ing efforts are laughable at best, after the demise
of the overrated n. B.I.G. , I always felt he was using it
as a plane to gain mo' money.
But it seems he has the talent to actually make it without a
shred of musical potency.
With the "cheddar" he's acquired over the years he's
actually established himself on multiple platforms.
I'm absolutely clueless as to why his shit sells cuz he
doesn't even use half neckit biatches in his vidz to pimp
his songs like all the other "rappers".
But then I don't understand the charts anyway, cos all
there's in it is disposable crap while all the true
musicians get left out.
