Posted by grinningcat at watmm :

some of u guys really suprise me with ur reactions.... esp
joyrex!

saying stuff like 'at least track 1 has a beat' is really
backward comment to make, something that i wud expect from a
3 year old. I dont mean to slag any of u off, i just find
your reactions to Smojphace really, really surprising !!!

the 2 noise tracks i think r gud, maybe u r looking at them
too hard or whatever, but its classic aphex twin i reckon:
fucking sound up, making it sound wicked. Its just an
extension of the stuff he's done before. And all this talk
about them being spewed out from a c64 machine is bullshit,
how can u not appretiate the detail in those tracks, the way
the sounds keep going inverse and all that, how they develop
etc. Its a mindfuck, like for instance 'go plastic'. i
really dont see whats so hard to understand about that... it
sounds great loud too...

suddenly it seems all of u have closed ur minds and r saying
stupid things.

and the whole thing about Aphex ripping off his fans; i
think he'd find that deeply offensive if u said that to him,
quite rightly too. He's releasing his music which has taken
him ages to make for u fans and ur all slagging him off, to
the extent that u think he's robbing u off ur money. what
the fuck! if u dont like it dont buy it, but dont start all
this bullshit about 'its so dissapointing, i feel robbed,
he's up to his old tricks' lol . I think deep he is very
serious about his music, and respects the fact his fans have
given him the opportuniy to make music full-time, and wud
never try and rip u off, instead Just supply more mind
bending musical experiments, which is what he does best and
what we want, no?!

Yes you are ;P

I need to listen to the tracks some more before I pass final
judgement.

I think people in general are very over analytical about
things. In this case obviously music is the topic. Look at
the plathoria of smojphace threads and discussion. About
this and about that. I have read a number of posts where
people claim that RDJ is ripping them off or making shit
tracks on purpose or whatnot (you get the picture).

I found this post refreshing, specifically because of the
quote:

"and the whole thing about Aphex ripping off his fans; i
think he'd find that deeply offensive if u said that to him,
quite rightly too. He's releasing his music which has taken
him ages to make for u fans and ur all slagging him off, to
the extent that u think he's robbing u off ur money. what
the fuck! "

ok. But in this case "liking it" or "not liking it" is not
the case.

You like it good. You hate it good. But it's this whole
slandering "RDJ made pure shit to make you dumbfucks look
silly" thing that gets me.

That was the point of me posting this. I may not personally
like it, but that is completely irrelivant.

hahahah :D

all the smojphace talk is nonsense .. its a bloody 3 track
ep for christ sake.. and if some guy likes to pull a
joke/make abnormal music ok. if i like it, ill buy it, if
not, ill leave it to rot in the shelves of my local cd
farmer.

may i suggest a penalty of -50 points for everyone who
mentions smojphace again?

I just hate how people have all these expectations and act
like the artists owe them soemthing. They're just making art
and people get too judgemental over it... they're such
bitches.

thats the best part of being famous. you can release
whatever you like, and if its abnormal everyone is gonna
flip out about it

i hate that part. i'm sure he doesn't care if people dont
like it. its not like he is toiling day in day out just for
the fans. he makes music for himself. i think the title
"26 mixes for cash" says it all.

i'm not saying i hate smojphace, i'm saying i hate that
statement. it goes against everything RDJ himself says.

those noise tracks are actually part of a secret encoded
brainwash-message telling you to kill your parents and then
to continually do the "rdj dance" on their graves
