Combine x44 is still my favourite ever, but Pennyworth
constantly has me in awe. I have been very impressed with
pommes stuff that I have heard as well.

Thanks to the people who mentioned me, I feel all warm and
gooey and pink inside now.
Maybe not pink.

I'm really into MDX's stuff (Rob Fragilenine) as I have been
for ages, but I haven't really had much of a chance to hear
much else fomr this board as I rarely have the chance o D/L
music (almost all of my posting is done from work - no music
allowed), but I know that Kcinsu and Gate (+Latenights) are
also very good, as is Fat Kaimo.

well i think the quality of sounds that come from this board
make it hard to place favourites, so far everything i have
heard i have enjoyed, there is a nice varietyin styles so if
i did pick a favourite it would just reflect the kind of
stuff i really enjoy listening to, ie i like beat driven
music, and artists that good understandings of percussion,
however i can listen to something atmospheric with no
beatsat all and really enjoy it for whatit is, i think thats
it, i enjoy the music here, each in its own individuality
for what it is.
And no i wouldn't say my music is my favourite, i do enjoy
making it though.

oh and many thanks for people that enjoy my music.

a little off topic, i hope to catalogue as many if the
artists as i can that browse this board on my website,
itwill be a while yet but i have alittle under a hundred so
far.

are any of you fellow musicians, like myself, starting not
to care what others think?

i've really been feeling that way lately - maybe it's
because i'm an asshole, or maybe... it's because i'm a
FUCKING asshole.

that's not unnatural. when people aren't understanding your
motive and/or the track's meaning it's disconcerting. you
can put a lot of effort into minute things people never
notice, or a track could have a sentimental or other meaning
to you personally, and no one will notice and just give a
comment on what they thought, not knowing or being able to
translate any of that stuff from your music. so you're just
like, well fuck you guys, you don't get it, i'm not going to
change it because to me it's exactly what i wanted.

but that's a bad move because if you actually want people to
hear your music you should get a consensus from people who
don't know or particularly care what hidden meaning it has
what exactly you need to improve on, be it melody, rhythm,
instrumentation, etc.

offline evolume from seattle (United States) on 2003-09-18 17:09 [#00869342]

i like to make music.

i'd post it more often if it didn't take me an average of 2
months to finish a track

i do enjoy listening to most of your folks' music, even the
awful shit. it gives me objectivity. To see what others do
right and wrong and compare it to my own successes and
mistakes helps me to improve.

so thanks for sharing, kids.

one thing i do appreciate is people who actually make an
effort to listen to the stuff here and give honest reviews.

ecnadniarb and weatheredstoner, for example, give sincere
reviews rather than a few people here who just post
non-specific negative comments like, "Its crap, horrible."

ampi max --- I have a ton of his tracks, maybe "amplord" is
my favorite?

chaosmachine --- that fake boc track ("a reason for today")
was great.

jivverdicker --- a few of my favorite tracks, under a
variety of pseudonyms

vlr --- I really like some of the older mixes (sorry, I
haven't kept up), for instance "classics".

jaroen --- 8bittryout is pretty great

(there were a bunch others, but my xlt folder is lost
somewhere and I can't remember...)

lee, can you post that ochre remix somewhere?
