Fuck Radiohead mix

This is my fuck radiohead mix made with their samples...I
don't know how to describe it...it is sort of like a mix
intended to fuck radiohead if you get what I mean...

It is here called nf1xrhmix and I guarantee it will probably be different
than most of the entries into the competition.

Comment appreciated...

maybe you can call it 'Hail to the Teat' then, if no one
else is going to use it..

It's funny! it sounds like field recording of a robot at the
checkout in Asda.

I must admit I didnt love it... but anyway I am not a music
maker, so my opinion must not count I guess.

I would never be able of doing something like that

Thanks for listening anyway. I was just trying something
new...I am getting into the whole noise thing but I wanted
to try and do it with a bit of structure as well...and what
better way to do it than with the shitty radiohead samples
:D

Fuck knows...I downloaded the samples and was that disgusted
I am not entering the stupid competition.

the samples may be shyte - but hell - we are electronic
musicians - we fucking make music with samples of keyboard
clicks and the distortion from plugging a mic in... well, at
least i do.

They were over processed too short to do anything really
good with...think of it this way...

Think of remixing as rewriting a book but in this case you
are not given the book as source material, instead you are
just given a heap of words that were included in the book
and expected to form sentences out of them. Now you can
still end up with a decent paragraph out of those words but
it is a totally new composition, completely out of context
to the original.

So in fact this competition isn't a remix competition...it
is a make a song using radiohead provided samples.

well really - that is what makes this so interesting man - i
mean - for the global goon remix competitoin did you
justtake all the loops given and rearrange them? if so thats
pretty boring and unimaginative - radiohead has done this so
that we can do whatever the fuck we want - make it really
creative and complex - they are giving us very little
borders and boundries - i think this set-up is pretty
fucking good

it reminds me of gerry and the pacemakers. oh hold on, no it
doesn't.

No the global goon ones I took the loops (the provided
clean loops) sliced them up, processed the slices
etc. etc. added my own effects to where I wanted them
added.

The radiohead ones are cut and paste for the kiddies
efforts.

Well, I like it, for some reason...

Maybe it would need a little more variation, though.

Did you listen to it...if so what did you think...but you
have to listen to it all the way through to get the
meaning...it is a deep peice man :P

A little more variation? How do you mean? There is a lot
of variation in there. :D

offline dariusgriffin from cool on 2003-07-02 11:18 [#00765165]

Well, there's a lot of variation in the arrangements, but
the sounds you use stay the same throughout the track and
there's no real evolution. Er, do I make sense ?

Yes I understand :D

But if I lovingly changed the sounds it wouldn't fuck
radiohead any more. :P

so do you hate radiohead?
I'm not a big fan either, I think they're overhyped, but I
don't hate them.
Just wondering what your feelings are.
