^?the noise trakies are less full blown compared to
merzbow..its more like the travels of a lonely sound through
digitaland, being twisted and tortured.......less white noise
orientated.....

so, the enjoyment of ktpa and stuff like merzbrow is similar
to classical, in that you get "taken for a ride" on the
soundscapes, as opposed to bopping to a beat, or crooning to
the lyrics?

offline pantalaimon from Winterfell (United Kingdom) on 2003-07-02 09:11 [#00765024]
Points: 7090 Status: Lurker | Followup to hobbes: #00765012 | Show recordbag

yeah its definatley different to most 'noise' that i've
heard before, it seems more varied. I was thinking of
getting the Satanstornade cd, i think i might like it.

offline hobbes from age on 2003-07-02 09:15 [#00765033]
Points: 8168 Status: Lurker

nRefund: i was just trying to compare the ktpas to the
likes satanstornade etc....highlight wise.......i think the
variety is its highlight for me esp the first one.....
but to answer your question just about all music and
sound takes me on a ride, some are just nastier!

_satanstornades endless white noise will only do it on
headphones for me, as most of merzbow. but i find that
ktpa one n two passed the speaker test......

righto, I think I understand, so it's a ride that sorta

offline hobbes from age on 2003-07-02 09:23 [#00765052]

yeah..well, i feel its more like certain sounds are being
taken for a ride, if you know what i mean.....like
plasticine going through test tubes being given various
forms of treatments or something...and travelling. :D

I haven't bought this, and I doubt I will... I'm not much
interested in RDJ anymore... and definitely not noise, which
is what this seems to be... Autechre are my fav IDM group at
the moment methinks... although I haven't been listening to
IDM that much recently either...

> i never liked classical, but yes that's pretty much like

in some merzbow, you can discern some "real music artifacts"
sometimes, but it's pretty much a musical ride.

yeah you should blame xltronic for your smojphace purchase.
they bashed it to little pieces so OFCOURSE you're gonna be
overhyped and buy the album based on those highly positive
