I'm going to attempt to play two completely different albums simultaneously and see what happens. For example; what would Confield and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony sound like together? How about Chiastic Slide and Ravi Shankar? Has anyone tried this ?

I have played John Cage's In a landscape at two different sides of my room about 4 seconds off or so. It had a wonderful effect especially during "Dream".

Interesting results with the Ae and Godspeed. Godspeed going through the big system and LP5 running through the smaller one right behind my chair. Godspeed's orchestration combines well with the computer beats. Still listening...

There is no connection. I am simply playing them at the same time in order to experience the result of the combination. It's fairly impressive to my ears. Give it a shot.

Of course there's a connection. The current trend for mashups/bootlegs stems from people experiencing a similar funtime 2 records at the same time thing.
I've done what you suggest and it's Ok tho.
Acroyear2 and any Ornette Coleman is pretty damn cool.
Also Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips is completely based on this concept (not a fan of that album(s) though.)
