an early glimpse of the future of game depth/immersion?

who else thinks this game is a masterpiece that will set the
path for games to come,... I've been playing the game now
for a week straight, and if it's anything like daggerfall,
I'll be playing it for months to come,...

Actually, i bought this last Saturday now I have long
periods of time to fill up. Yowza. It's like some sort of
sleep-eater, I'm completely hooked. I've arsed things up by
completely ignoring thief skills though... and I suck at
it...
It also has a lovely soundtrack.

the fold out map you get with the game is insanely
usefull,... people with a pirate version of this game would
have a much harder time IMO,

right now I'm walking through windy deserts above the
ashlands, I'm only level six though, so if I see danger, I
gotta run....

I got an illegal copy, but its hella sweet. I fucked up some
quests so I think i need to start over. A very immersive and
detailed game.

Nah, I actually know where I'm going for the most part. I
love the little wooden signs that tell you what direction
cities are in.

yeah, I still get lost though...

those flying 'racers' are the biggest fucking annoyance to
grace the end of my blade...

take those things out of the game, and it's perfect...

this game is SOOOOO cool!!! :)

love it.

especially the old Dwemer places - all those creepy metallic
sounds.

one thing I did do almost immediately is completely turn off
the soundtrack - it gets very annoying quite quickly.

I ended up getting close to level 18 I think. The glass
armour becomes your saviour once you find it (or steal it).
The game is absolutely HUGE and insalnely open-ended.

For the sake of not falling into poverty by losing sleep, my
girlfriend and my job, I chose to sell that addictive
menace.

A better RPG than Star Wars: KOTOR in my opinion. I might
buy Morrowind GOTY for Xbox one of these days.

plaid it for a while

got into it a bit, but something just didn't sit right.

The journals sucked a wang, for one.

I liked the open endedness of it, but I dream of a game like
that with the Half Life 2 type engine.

ie. You can use your sword to cut down a branch and put it
in the road if you want, and people react to it.

THAT would be the ultimate. Or busting down a door,
whatever the consequences, because you have gained strength
and the door is just planks.

iono, until then, it juse wasn't ulimited enough.

one thing that i liked about morrowind is that it just felt
huge. it was a great change of pace from what i normally
play (console rpgs), but in the long run i got bored with
it. im more of a fan of plot driven game sequencing, and
while morrowind has a plot, even when you start its too
masked by the non linear branching off and gamestyle. almost
just too expansive for me; like a good story when im
playing.

then again thats just me, i still think morrowind is
excellently done and worth even trying, even if i couldnt
play it for long.

yeah, but you also have to be realistic.

and who cares about the journals..? I only use them to look
up info, like directions.

I actually enjoyed a bit more streamlined game like Fallout
2 even more. Planescape torment also has the fucking best
story in game history. But still it was great... it was
just, when the main quest was finished, everything was maxed
out i was kinda like.... then what???

Daggerfall!! Fuck yeah. The good old days. The trick to
that game was finding the pixelated naked hookers!

what evryone are saying.

I forget, is Morrowind like Daggerfall where you swing your
sword with the mouse? Or do you just click to attack? I
liked the Daggerfall system a lot.
First person RPG's are way better than third person, and
real time combat is way better than turn based by my
preferences.
Morrowind was a little easy, but it had some fucking nice
graphics; especially the water (if you've got a good video
card). I got to like level 40 or something easy and got
kind of bored. Not very much variety of equipment. The
world editor is top notch though. I made a house in Balmora
or whatever it was called, it was some pimp shit.

Morrowind might be the best game I've ever played. With the
Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions, there's a huge amount of
things to do - something like 300 hours to complete every
quest...

anyone wanna buy my copy?
I was hugely disappointed by this game. It's not nearly as
deep as most people claim it to be, I actually prefer
Daggerfall with all it's bugs and ugly graphics. I don't
even consider Morrowind to be a good looking game either,
the water looks out of place compared to the rest of the
graphics and the characters are poorly animated. You are
about as free to do what you want to do like you are in GTA,
meaning if you don't follow the main quest things tend to
get boring rather quickly. So, who's willing to buy my copy
of Morrowind 50% off?

Morrowind is great! The only problem, is there is lots of
fuckup going on. It has to be the most unstable game i've
ever played, and if you check the forum on the official game
page, it's not an uncommon phenomenon.

You should also try Arcanum if you liked Fallout! Arcanum is
amazingly complex and detailed!

"the water looks out of place compared to the rest of the

that's exactly how I feel, I for one was not impressed by
the graphics of this game (except for the water) and I have
a Radeon 9500 pro and plenty of processing power. Even with
the graphics all the way up, there was still a lot to be
desired. The faces of the humans were all ugly-gay too. Same
with the orcs (granted it's more acceptable for them). I did
however like how there were multiple races to choose from
(the cat-people and lizards are badass) but then again,
pretty much every RPG with character creation nowadays has
more races than just human..
