so i just started downloading some Goldfrapp, since it's been mentioned a ton lately. what exactly should i be expecting? after searching some, i gather "beautiful" "creepy" and "violins"
i've got high expectations, this better be good :)

Well, the first is like some downbeat/trip-hop band making the soundtrack to the next James Bond flick circa 1960s. All horns and Theremins...and Alisons voice...
The second is more dancy/upfront affair...with a more club oriented sound. I prefer the first...but get them both...and lemme know which you like better...

i like them both, they are difficult to compare as they are so different. They are awesome live too, Alison's singing is even better live!

Goldfrapp are one of my fave newish bands, there really aren't many good new bands these days... Goldfrapp are one of the few good ones

Got to agree with you on that, they are among the better ones around....her voice is just exquisite.
