so i just started downloading some Goldfrapp, since it's
been mentioned a ton lately. what exactly should i be
expecting? after searching some, i gather "beautiful"
"creepy" and "violins"

i've got high expectations, this better be good :)

Well, the first is like some downbeat/trip-hop band making
the soundtrack to the next James Bond flick circa 1960s. All
horns and Theremins...and Alisons voice...

The second is more dancy/upfront affair...with a more club
oriented sound. I prefer the first...but get them both...and
lemme know which you like better...

i like them both, they are difficult to compare as they are
so different. They are awesome live too, Alison's singing is
even better live!

aren't many good new bands these days... Goldfrapp are one
of the few good ones

Got to agree with you on that, they are among the better
ones around....her voice is just exquisite.
