 | some hip-hop cd's i've been listening to that are experimental (somewhat or a lot):

 el-p "fantastic damage"
 the roots "phrenology"
 common "electric circus"
 aceyalone "love & hate"
 anti-pop consortium vs. matthew shipp
prefuse 73 (you already have this of course)
gang starr "the ownerz" (not very experimental but still
very different from how mainstream hip-hop sounds... dj
 premier is amazing)
jaylib (madlib & jay dee) (this album isn't out yet but you
 can download it)
j-live "the best part" and "all of the above" (same thing i
said about gang starr.. in this case it's really great music
with lots of live instruments, but not "experimental")

i can think of some others later

 of autechre and aphex twin

check "gold teeth thief" by DJ RUPTURE

its a bootleg cd, but the quality is very good, and it is a
really nice hip hop mix with elements of idm and jungle
some really nice uptempo stuff on here

 | i bought buzz caner less than a year ago from warpmart...can't be that hard to find?

oh and yeh - the live cd from the last album isn't the best
quality i've ever heard...but then, i still can't get my
head round that release at all...it still doesn't do "it"
for me.....i dunno - maybe i'll whack it on a few years down
the line and realise my error

 | A year ago? I've been looking for it for about a year, and I'm sure I would have seen it in Warpmart.

Seriously, it seems harder to find than HAB2, although goes
 for a lot less money.

 | cheers. seems like andy's has gone down the pan though. I was not previously aware of the chain, but apparently they
were affected by a move by customers to buying on the web.
 shame.
