Advice from Sido : Pull up the pink cap a bit from your eyes
so you can see better =)

I think you should get "Do You Know Squarepusher" next . Its
my favorite.

I loved the last prefuse 73... and I really enjoy hip hop...
so as you are very into hip hop I would like some
recomendations on the most experimental or cutting edge hip
hop

Expeimental hip hop aye!

Water" LP
And "THE QUIET PARTY" with remixes by Madlib/YNQ & High
Priest (Anti-Pop Consortium) + MC's Absract Rude & Busdriver

some hip-hop cd's i've been listening to that are
experimental (somewhat or a lot):

el-p "fantastic damage"
the roots "phrenology"
common "electric circus"
aceyalone "love & hate"
anti-pop consortium vs. matthew shipp
prefuse 73 (you already have this of course)
gang starr "the ownerz" (not very experimental but still
very different from how mainstream hip-hop sounds... dj
premier is amazing)
jaylib (madlib & jay dee) (this album isn't out yet but you
can download it)
j-live "the best part" and "all of the above" (same thing i
said about gang starr.. in this case it's really great music
with lots of live instruments, but not "experimental")

i can think of some others later

recomend Daedelus (ft Busdriver & Radioinactive) "The Water"
LP

i second this!

also try The Coup "Steal This Album" or "Party Music", it's
fun but also incredibly serious political music by
anarchists

nacmat

try out david kristian-beneath the valley of the modulars

you will probably like this one - its sounds like a mixture
of autechre and aphex twin

as for the hip hop

check "gold teeth thief" by DJ RUPTURE

its a bootleg cd, but the quality is very good, and it is a
really nice hip hop mix with elements of idm and jungle
some really nice uptempo stuff on here

apperantly you can download the whole dj rupture set from
his site

and it is in good quality!

thousands of times

i have all of the ones you mentioned (except selection 16) +
burningn'n tree.

burningn'n tree is good (even though at times the tracks
sound too similar, the album as a whole has a very nice
feeling to it) : )

offline Spacecadet on 2003-06-29 14:55 [#00761996]

burning'n tree is pretty wicked, what about budukan
mindphone?

offline nacmat on 2003-06-29 18:01 [#00762128]
Points: 31271 Status: Lurker

I think I am missing (mainly):

burning tree
budakhan mindphone
maximum priest
do you know squarepusher

which is the best?
is there any other release (available on cd)??

do you know squarepusher ofcourse :)

but i kind of like burning tree and budakhan mindphone as
well, not even close to go plastic or dyksp tho

buzzcaner is definitely the best squarepusher album you're
missing nacmat

hey, also check out anything by Req if you haven't already.
kind of ambient hip-hop.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-06-30 15:55 [#00762981]

req sound much like a background music to me...its just
there...playing
nothing that would attract attention imo :)

what's wrong with good background music?

i don't think Req's made a solid through-and-through album
yet, but when he's good he's really good...

on the madlib tangent, titsworth, have you heard anything
that closely resembles the stuff he does as Quasimoto... you
know quirky, hip-hop character/concept albums?

nothing, but im not really focused on background music, it
could be just about anything
i guess what im trying to say is that it is not that
interesting (to keep my mind occupied or something hehe)

sure, try the soon-to-be-released collaboration with mf doom
as the group "madvillain". also try some madlib remixes,
like the roots "you don't see us" and common "dooinit" (also
one for jill scott if you can find it).. all the vocals are
pitched up like quasimoto

miss elliot, though. *vomits*

aside from that i'd say it's been...pretty good.
educational.

there is some nice jungle and drum n bass in there

your best bet is probably e-bay, i havent seen it in any

well worth tracking down though, one of my favourite pusher
albums.

Yeah, I only heard it the other day from a friend who bought
it on ebay. I've never seen it myself on the 'bay, but I
hear that it goes for £30-40.

blimey.

i got mine years ago, from an andy's records of all places.
i have to say, i dont think i've seen it since then, even in
london. seems like it was a fairly limited release.

i bought buzz caner less than a year ago from
warpmart...can't be that hard to find?

oh and yeh - the live cd from the last album isn't the best
quality i've ever heard...but then, i still can't get my
head round that release at all...it still doesn't do "it"
for me.....i dunno - maybe i'll whack it on a few years down
the line and realise my error

A year ago? I've been looking for it for about a year, and
I'm sure I would have seen it in Warpmart.

Seriously, it seems harder to find than HAB2, although goes
for a lot less money.

cheers. seems like andy's has gone down the pan though. I
was not previously aware of the chain, but apparently they
were affected by a move by customers to buying on the web.
shame.
