somebody explain to me how to do it
(cigarettes, strictly speaking)
they are foul and it's an expensive method of suicide
but I cannot seem to stop...

Half the time you need a cig for the oral fixation. The
other half is the nicotine. imo.

Cigarettes are very convienient, they are pre-packaged and
easy to carry around. You could add up all the money you
spend on cigs (in a year) and use that number to help you to
stop buying them.

yes. they are mad expensive and going upandup in price, my
weathered friend

I used to be on those drugs that help you quit. that worked.
but they made me kind of crazy and it was not worth it

just lately I've been a regular fiend, like pack a day type

How to stop smoking in 5 easy steps:

1. Take 10 cigarets and put them in a glass of water.
2. Letthem stay there for 1 week.
3. Take the cigs out of the water and throw the cigs away.
4. Now every time you want a cigaret, just smell the water.
If that doesn't help, take a zip of it (but not to much, cuz
then you'll puke for hours).
5. Now you will get nausea every time you think of a cigaret
- easy as that

someone i know forr yearrs has smoked 40 a day, he's
starrted to get a cough and so he cut down to 4 a day. that
went up to 10. he's on 10 a day now. and he's going to cut
them out bit by bit.

just stopping does not worrk. bit by bit is the way.

I've never heard that one. that could maybe work. unless I
am in reality a total dirty hippie who is immune to such
methodology.

I smoked 2 whole cigars the other night. They we're big ones

its hard, but not impossible.

the way I stopped was:

I got my labret pierced. I told myself when I got it that I
would quit smoking. So now, everytime I feel like a cig, I
am instantly reminded by this piece of metal through my lip,
that I can always feel, that I promised myself to stop.

I seriously think it was the only way I could stop...
because I made myself a promise, and I dont want to break
it.

There have been MANY (today included) that I just
overwhelmingly wanted a cigarette, and the only thing that
kept me from going out and getting a pack, or bumming one,
was feeling the labret piercing, and remembering, that no
matter how hard it is, I promised myself not to smoke. To do
so would be to lie to myself...

I havnt had a cig in almost 4 months. Cold turkey. Had a cig
before walking into the piercing store, got the piercing,
and thats it. Done.

But I will tell you, the cravings do not go away. You only
learn to resist them.

You are wrong. The cravings DO go away. They get less and
less pangy, until they're no more compelling than a desire
for a banana split. And you don't feel compelled to run out
and eat a banana split everytime you think of it, unless
you're a complete wreck.

smoke like chimneys.

If you really wanted to quit smoking you wouldn't be needing
to make this post.
