check out the new SND album, Tender Love. It's really beautiful, cutup R+B garage bizness. Minimal techno artists doing pop-R+B, I love it.

aye, underground pop.. with the examples given being aphex and sigur ros leaves it pretty broad
so heres a bunch of good stuff that may or may not fit your definition of 'underground pop', but is well worth checking out anyways:

I don't know if they'd be classified ''underground'', but Sloan make the best power-pop money can buy these days, and have been for probably 10 years. Twice Removed and One Chord to Another are their best, but all their albums since then have been rock solid as well. I love them, and it's not just because they're the only really good Nova Scotian band. They're fucking dope like soap on a rope.

it's indie rock with a sense of humor (doesn't take itself too seriously). they've been around for a long while and are actually one of the few extremely popular/trendy indie rock bands i can endorse (along with dismemberment plan).

just popular alternative music
alternative can sometimes be underground pop is popular
again ill use aphex as the best example because most people listen and say its shit
but most people who listen to something different or demand a bit more have some aphex somewhere
