his sounds at Sonar were trippy, dream-scapey. so are Boc
you say? well, christ defo has his own sound.... less linear
than boC, if that makes sense!

will it be both on cd and vinyl?

and is Benbecula Records a large records company? I've never
heard of them.. The samples sounded really cool, ambient,
lush, organic, beautiful!

the guy at pelicanneck said it was fantastic as well. i got
pylonesque last week after seeing him at sonar and that is
ace too, well worth getting. really looking forward to this
release now.

benbecula records are a small label and are named after a
tiny scottish island, probably where he is from, so i
suspect he'll be the only artist on it. pylonesque was both
on vinyl and cd, so no reason to suspect this won't be too.

Benbecula are a small label and he is certianly the biggest
name on it, but they have other artists, check out the
"Music Vol 1 and 2" compilation sampler for their other
acts. The label is loosely associated with Dalriada, in a
similair way that Warp and Rephlex are... a few of the
artists on one have released on the other etc.

thanks for setting me straight ceri, i'll certainly have a
look for those sampler cds. do i take it that the music on
benbecula is all in the same sort of vein?

I was asking because it is seems harder to order cd's from
small labels. Or do they coorporate with a bigger label for
distribution? Same story, for example CCO, which is always
taking more time to order cd's from...

It seems to largely be scottish electronica, but the sounds
are quite diverse, there's some good info here
(not all benbecula mind...)

The Marcia Blaine School for Girls is worth checking out,
especially their recent single "pinksticks/we" (I prefer the
AA side, "We" but both tracks are good).

i would imagine that boomkat.com (pelicanneck) will have
loads of the cds available when its released. you may be
best off going to them to get it quickly.

You'll be able to get it on CD through a thing called
simbiotic.
Its a mail order for small scottish labels.
I think it'll be pretty cheap too.

Ceri JC: Good shout of Marcia Blane School for Girls!! :D

Anyone heard of Frogpocket? He's been kickin about on the
scottish scene for years and finally he's got a 7" release
on Planet Mu.

Frogpocket has an upcoming release on Benbecula as well.

Metamorphic Reproduction Miracle will be both on CD and
double LP (BEN018CD and BEN018LP)
