hi, ive been into richard d james for like a year and a
half now but i just discovered this website and registered.
I have the Come On Daddy EP, I Care Because You Do, RDJ
album, and Windowlicker single.
I was wondering 2 things:
what album should i get next?
What are the other albums he's put out?
thanks

druqz is pretty good, i like it.
you may or may not like selected ambient works, its pretty
different from most of that stuff, cept some of i care
because you do. but its good.

and then i'd explore the huge wealth of other artists who do
good stuff thats like aphex, or built upon some stuff that
he's done. because honestly, aphex is just the tip of the
iceberg.

recommended for new aphex fans: bogdan raczynski, flashbulb,
emotional joystick, curtis chip, venetian snares, for
uptempo stuff. if you like his more ambient stuff, well,
theres a whole wealth of other artists who do similar,
amazing music.

Recycle, i live in washington DC. Thanks for all the
recommendations everyone. I havent heard much of Aphex's
ambient stuff except Aegiopolis and i liked that one alot.
my taste isnt just pigeonholed into one type of sound
because i like stuff like Sigur Ros and at the same time
stuff like Nine Inch Nails and Chemical Brothers. once again
though, thanks.

so you have Come to Daddy, I Care Because You Do, RDJ
album and Windowlicker.

those are his main albums, so you have a choice of going
into his next main album "Drukqs" or getting into his
earlier singles work i.e. donkey rhubarb, ventolin.

and then theres his analogue bubblebath series 1, 2, 3, 3.5,
4 and 5

get drukqs man. If you like come to daddy you're probabaly
gonna love this.
Also get SAW 85-92, it's an amazing record if you look at
what he'd been able to create in that time.

ageispolis is very ambient. Ambient isn't necceseraly
(cannot spell this) beat-less music like SAW2

26 remixes gives you a broad view of all the styles he's
covered over his career. The newer stuff is more drill and
bass, the older stuff more dancey.

ok, my recommendation, forget Aphex, and go find someone
good like Autechre or BoC!! ;)

Just kidding... although I've lost some interest in RDJ,
Drukqs, SAW85-92, and some of ICBYD are really good...
actually it's all pretty good, I just got bored of it...
