been listening to it all day, can't get enough of it. It
was my first d'n'b album purchase ..i think i bought it back
in '98

some real gems on this baby:

Rings Around Saturn (Peshay & Decoder Remix) ...brilliant,
groovy as fuck bassline. my favourite of the remixes

Rings Around Saturn the originial is propably my favourite
photek track ever, pure classic.

The Seven Samurai ...Amazing sound fx, fantastic drum
programming. i also dig the remix

The Water Margin

UFO ...it took him months to finish this one

This record is so much more intresting than Modus Operandi
(IMO)

My first photek too. Modus Operandi is a wicked album too.
That man throws down some impressive shit man - makes me
wanna give up making music sometimes.

Solaris blows tho.

geeez...nobody likes photek I guess. Aside from all that
drill n' bass stuff, photek and source direct are about the
only junglists I listen to.

if you like photek, you should listen to the stuff DJ TeeBee
puts out. his music is very photek inspired. he was recently
signed to Photek's label 'Photek Productions'

I like Photek, Ni Ten Ichi Ryu is the one I remember
most....nice track...unfortunately I haven't got any of his
stuff over here with me...hasn't he gone all housey recently
though?

he went all housey but has now given that up and gone all
hip hip (back to his roots as he says - i call it cashing in
myself, seeing as he now lives in miami).

photeks early stuff though was ace. especially the second
release on photek productions.

anyone see the Ni thn ichi Ryu Video?

up there with windowlicker, cmon my selector, grantz graf..
kid you not.

Teepee is great too... black science labs is great ... mix
it with whitehouse and Hellfish for a sonic
onslaught...photek and Teebee are too crisp without some
noise thrown in!

It's a fucking great album!
Great driving music.
I always enjoy that piece of art the most when were driving
late at night in some south european country.

just by coincidence, i saw photek and teebee djing last
friday @ fabric in london....

i didnt really think either were that good. i mean photek is
suppossed to play really futuristic or some shit, but it was
mostly 2step shit for 2 hours. good show though

i really want 'basement track' by high contrast! it rocks!
they played that a few times

while i like photek, i think with kids outside the d&b scene
he gets too much acclaim. there are lots of other artists
who do stuff thats just as good.

teebee is certainly a good artist - his subtitles label is
one to check thats still doing great technical stuff. other
artists to check - k, klute, future prophicies, polar,
paradox, asc, silini, dragonsword/blame, future
engineers...

most d&b djs don't play this stuff out though.

no, they don't play it out, too true. the scene has been
hijacked by the wanky trance mob who just do it to cane vast
amounts of shitty pills and chew off their tongues on a
saturday nite. theres been loads of crappy trance dnb being
pumped out these days. klute, calibre, marky, polar,
digital are around the best these days - will check out the
others you mention cutups, ta.
