Ok... so I am interested in Reaktor 4...

BUT, I will be getting Max/MSP/Jitter, for school (gonna be
taking a class on it).

Now... I know Max can do a fuckload... and much more then
reaktor can...

but do you still think reaktor is a worthwhile purchase?

Is the interface harder, or easier to use then Max?

Reaktor seems damn sweet and all... but I rather not buy 2
similiar programs if I dont need to... :-\

Any one who has used both who can give me some insight?

Thanks!

The presets in Reaktor are a lot more fun... The Reaktor
interface looks much nicer, and it seems a bit less like a
course in higher grade maths than Max does...

willing to overlook :-D

You know you can get max cheaper as a student, right? Also,
if you need it for a class, see if your institution will buy
in bulk to save you even more.

actually, my teacher is like best buds with Max Matthews
(guess who he is ;) )
so we are getting it for an extremely discounted price. :)

But still... Reaktor is another 300 bucks or so... I gotta
budget!

I play around with both... both are amazing, but really
complex when you start trying to make your own devices.

Max has a lot of interesting video and graphic possibilities
that I don't think Reaktor can do... like being able to
trigger DVD's from a midi keyboard etc...

how would you rate the instrument/synth/sampler design in
Max compared to Reaktor?

a plus for max would be... you can save your instruments as
stand alone plugins right?

The thing is, with Reaktor the preset devices sound amazing,
whereas with Max, alot of the stuff that comes with it
sounds like crap experiments made by idiots... Reaktor's
effects are worth the price alone

Isn't there some new version of reaktor where it's basically
just the existing ensembles as VST plugins?
