I know its afew years old now, but after watching it again
this weekend, i must say how bloody perfect it is... in a
world of crap films

- the basic story is amazing
- the dialog is clever and witty
- the characters are fantastic... you could extrapolate a
lot about them
- the constant turning of events is unreal
- what an ending (begining)!
- lots of philisphical meanderings on time, memory, blame,
guilt.... cool
- the cinematograhy is tight and compact mrroring the nature
of the main characters existence

Basically, "Memento" is to murder/mystery what Squarepusher
is to pop-music, i think.
You ?

everybody hates me for not liking this movie.

i cant help it ok. maybe my expectations were too high.

to me it was just confusing in a very annoying way, i didnt
like the cast, and the whole setting was just too
'minimal'.

maybe i should watch it again sometime

the minimality reflects exactly the natrure of Leonardss
existance, mate. Its a creative device...... its
supposed
to be confusing for the viewer, so we are in
the heros shoes. watch it again man, with the DVD on reverse
mode.. or jist swicth your brain to full power. As for the
cast... i´love the way theyré all completely ambiguous ..
nice and nasty all at the same time.... like real people

its just a normal plot mixed up in order, nothing special
plotwise--the order mixing just makes everyone think its
better than it is. memento was a good film but his first
film The Following is so much better in my opinion and were
not going to talk about insomnia or what hes doing next
because its just sad in comparison to his pre-hollywood
days(nolan that is)

round

wait... if you watch it in reverse what happens to the
scenes where he is on the phone in black and white between
the scenes that are the other scenes...
so you see it is not so linearly backwards as we had
hoped...

In a world of crap films, THIS MOVIE FITS RIGHT IN.

But then again, it really doesn't get much worse than
Insomnia.

geez did we watch the same movie?
I didn't find any of those points in it. It was about as
exciting as watching tortoises mate. All in all a totally
yawnworthy event and annoying at that.
But then, I also think squarepusher is overrated bs.
