Does anyone else find the 104-key keyboards annoying? Does
anyone actually use the 'windows keys'? I sweat they only
put those things out to fuck with people who play games.
You accidently hit it and it takes you right out of your
game even though it's still running....
Bill Gates' vision shouldn't also ruin my keyboard...

That is for Internet Explorer....not Windows Explorer.
Pressing Windows+E is so handy if I wanna access my drive
letters...such as my USB memory stick or my camera's card
reader.

Windows+M = Minimise all windows
Windows+BREAK = Display the System Properties dialog box.

Windows+D = Show the desktop.
Windows+Shift+M = Restores minimized windows.
Windows+E = Open My Computer.
Windows+F = Find
Windows+L Lock your computer if you are connected to a
network (very quick and cool)
Windows+R Open the Run dialog box.
Windows+U Open Utility Manager.

There are others too...

Also I find if the mouse is screwed...then you can right
click with the keyboard! ;)

Probably because not many people use them enough...so it
isn't widely known.

A colleague of mine, showed me the 'Windows+E'
function....and I have used it ever since. People ask me...
"What did you press for that??!" :D

I use the windows key all the time. It's very usefull, and
only occasionally mildly annoying. In those circumstances I
have a little proggie I wrote to disable the system keys.
Cos I'm nerdy like that.

You need not have written a program, it can be disabled
anyway. :$

Well in addition to the left and right WIN keys, it disables
other key combos like ALT-F4, ALT-TAB, ALT on it's own,
CTRL-ESC and ALT-TAB and I'm working on disabling
CTRL-ALT-DEL too, but that's tricky in the likes of XP. I
just wanted a quick and easy way to toggle on and off
different system keys. Originally I had to do it for work
purposes but I've found other uses for it (running epsxe for
instance! press the left ALT button during a game and things
go barmy!). I might even expand the code to do a complete
"redefine keyboard" for those keyboards that are missing
keys.

I just use an old 101-key keyboard I found in the $10 bin...
it's says 'Kid TRONIC' on it and is made in primary
colors... [you know... {yellow, blue, red}] and I have a
mouse
I don't even use my start/programs menu.. I keep everything
in my quicklaunch area...
maybe I should learn
but I wonl;t because I;m apathetic...
like the Rats of Nymh "We know too much."
