")...i hope i dont go to jail"

lol, i'm sure the punishment won't be that hard :-p
I guess your biggest risk is that one day one of those
envelopes will arive at the recipient empty. (or won't
arrive at all). Alot of things aren't allowed when sending
mail (like using perfectly square envelopes, writing the
addres on the wrong place, writing the addres of the sender
on the front instead of the back)... we're supposed to send
all that stuff back, but we let most of it slide. Hardly any
mail would be left if we were that strict ;-)

"and write 2000 addresses!"

Yes exactly! It really is alot of work... 2000 copies
doesn't seem like much for a cd... but when you have to send
them all yourself it's ALOT. Maybe you'll appreciate
recordlabels some more after this, for taking care of all
that kind of stuff ;-)
But once the money starts rolling in, i bet the sore hands
and numb tongue will be quickly forgotten :-p

"more than 1000 euros in one mail"

!!!
Well a 1000 euros is alot of money!

I'd be pretty upset already if 100 euros of mind got lost in
the mail.

its a good way of selling music this way Jhok, much better
for the artist for sure

But J-HOK do u hav that much faith in people to give them
all the tracks for free, in high quality mp3 and still
expect them to pay up? i dont think half the c*nts will...

i always thought putting up all the tracks, but in say 92
kbps was a better way, so if they want the proper thing in
gud quality they can pay 4 it...

by the way, wats so special about 'special edition' ?! i bet
it includes a pack of super glue of something cheesy like
that :-)

starts...

surely you'll only release 30 secs of a tune to sample

"give them all the tracks for free, in high quality mp3
and still expect them to pay up?
"

Well that'll be very interesting to observe...
The main argument you always get from the mp3-downloaders is
how they hate the MusicIndustry, and they don't want to put
more money in their pockets.

So theoretically, that would mean they're all gonna pay for
this cd since the industry isn't involved... right? I'm very
curious.

I'm gonna listen to those mp3's first, but if i like them
i'll definitly place an order.

"hey, come on...i was kidding :) "

oh shit :-p
I swear this happens to me all the time. People make jokes,
i think they're serious. Haha, even in real life!

Oh well.

my reasons for putting high quality mp3s up:
1 they'll be on soulseek soon after release anyway
2 my mp3s will be hi-quality made from the original wav
files, not from audio CD
3 the mp3s will have links back to my website
4 fast download
5 30 second or 1 minute samples are a pain

The trick is to take orders for the album FIRST, then
release mp3's SECOND. Its a logical move.

in which case there's absolutely no point of having any mp3s
then

childkiller, you probably wont find any old goon cds or
vinyl, but if you go to slsk and try these tracks out for
size:

business man
scott cronce is the ceo
afterlife
rubberstamp
metal buffalo
long whiney

Jerky Dharma rocks my world, J-man, just thought you should
know... :-)

I saw "Goon" on eBay (U.S.A.) the other month...I think it
sold for about 40 dollars or summat...

my most listened to track on the Braindance Coincidence. :D
