vatican nitez

but perhaps you'd want to wait for the familly glue to come
out (should be anytime now)-apperantly it is going to be
really nice
(check the comments on goon's site)

there's no risk involved, all the tracks will be available
to download in full at 160 kbps - so you can buy in
confidence :)

offline J-HOK on 2003-06-21 06:44 [#00750191]
Points: 904 Status: Addict

initially 2000,
the first 1000 is the special imprint j-hok version (fully
limited to 1000, and already fully subscribed)
the second edition isnt limited and is just the standard
imprint

offline ecnadniarb on 2003-06-21 06:46 [#00750198]

you have sold 1000 already...cool :D

I will have a listen when the tracks are up and they are as
good or better than your other releases then I will get me
one of those second edition ones.

offline J-HOK on 2003-06-21 06:47 [#00750200]

ill probably use:

paypal (credit and debit cards)
money order
cash wrapped in newpaper

offline J-HOK on 2003-06-21 06:48 [#00750203]
Points: 904 Status: Addict

i havent sold them yet! but i have enough emails from people
to hopefully fulfill the first batch (going on 80% take-up
rate)

the second edition isnt limited and is just the standard
imprint

im confused

offline J-HOK on 2003-06-21 06:58 [#00750215]
Points: 904 Status: Addict

ok sorry for the confusion, i initially intended it to be
limited to 1000 copies in total, and said this on my site.
the emails came in thick and fast though and i greedily saw
an opportunity to make some money, so i came up with the
idea of a limited special edition as well as an unlimited
normal edition.
the special edition (1000 copies) is fully subscribed. the
second edition can go on forever (but most likely will stop
at 2000)

anyhoo, send a mail to familyglue@globalgoon.com, and you
may get the special dogs-bollocks release if the take-up
rate is less than 80%

huh, please arrange something beside paypal for credit
cards...im usually using my mastercard for online purchases,
but paypal doesnt include countries like slovenia...
i take you have to visit bank for money order? (that takes
time...)

"cash wrapped in newpaper"
is this the conventional mail way?

If you are on Rephlex, then how come they can't just release
it in the shops. I mean they are a fairly big label so they
should help you out dude:)

he did it becuase if he distributed it with rephlrex and
sold it in shops - he would only make a small percentage of
profits - this is a much smarter way of doing things -
because he'll get almost 100% or sales profits :)

offline joakimlinden from Skövde (Sweden) on 2003-06-21 10:36 [#00750436]

my friend runs a "techno"label (to promote him: illgorhythm
@ www.henrikb.com) and he only releases his own stuff there
- but he has a deal with an english distribution company
which presses the records and takes care of printing the
sleeves and also does some promoting I believe... That way
he gets a good deal of the money himself but it's not cheap
to press vinyls and distribute them.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2003-06-21 16:16 [#00750849]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

yea i know but he sacrifices distribution this way. i get
the feeling rephlex passed on these tracks because they
didn't like them so he decided to release them himself
instead of just vaulting them. it's a smart idea but i doubt
he'll make as much off it as he did with vatican nitez which
you could find in some stores.

titsworth please stop spreading rumours about me (i've read
plenty of shit from you).
the only reason i'm releasing this CD myself is because of
this:

on rephlex i sold about 7000 copies of vatican nitez. i made
£6000.
already i have 1200 pre-pre orders for family glue, which
amounts to about £12,000 and i fully expect to sell 2000
over the next year.

and titsworth, i dont really know why you don't like me (and
i don't really care), but it'd be nice if you kept yourself
out of any global goon threads

you see titsworth, everything you say is pure bullshit, you
just assume things, and you get it wrong all the time, so
why not keep that big gob shut?

the mp3's arent up yet. im goona introduce them one at a
time up to the release date.

when you put your name down (via familyglue@globalgoon.com),
all that happens is that on the day i receive the CD's,
you'll receive an email from me with a unique URL to
purchase the CD. The sound files will be up a few weeks
before this date, so you have plenty of time to decide.

PS:
i lost my temper with that guy (titworth), i guess that's
something he's been hoping for for a long time. I put it
down to the excessive heat and humidity in liverpool at the
moment ;)

Just go to your local bank and get some english pounds? I
guess. If i'll buy the cd, that is how i'm going to do it.
(and then send that over the mail. Sending cash over the
mail is actually illegal (in the netherlands anyway). But if
you wrap the bills in tinfoil, no one will ever find out
;-)). It's a shame the UK doesn't use euros yet :-p That
would be even more convenient.

After reading J-HOK's little profit-calculation earlier in
this thread, i can see why he wants to release his music
like this from now on... but it also means you'll have to
send cd's out to 2000 addresses (that's TWO THOUSAND!).
Hehe... i guess his tongue will be completely numb from
licking all those envelopes and stamps afterwards ;-)

i wouldnt recommed slovenian chocolate (i eat imported ones
hehe)

surrounded...im sending cash through mail quite often (that
is when the site or person im ordering from doesnt accept
mastercard)...i hope i dont go to jail

i dont mind if its euros or pounds...im sending it as soon
as possible

and write 2000 addresses!
but hopefully after the first big push, theyll only come in
dribs and drabs
