I'm like wondering here. See I have 2.0 installed, and now I have this update for 2.5, but when I want to install it it says I must uninstall the old version. Now this seems a bit odd to me. Isn't an update just meant to patch up an older version instead of completely redoing the whole thing? Any suggestions as to what to do, cos I can't have 2.0 and 2.5 installed on the same machine and I don't want to mess anything up here. |

Just make sure you move the soundbanks and the other samples you don't want to lose into a different folder then uninstall v2 then install 2.5 the move everything back and you;ll be fine. |

I updated without problem. I had to uninstall 2 first and then install 2.5. |

and no one talks about the spider splitters.... a pitty, they're my favorites, undoubtably, everything else u could do w/ some good compilation efforts (except the vox, that is- but even there there's room for emulation) |

Yes...the spiders are what I always felt Reason was desperate for. I haven't had it long enough to use them in a track yet, so I have only messed about with the devices that have a direct effect on the sound. |

the vocoder is okay, prefer other ones out there: the scream is pretty good but not as warm as some: the thing that fucks me off about reason is the compression and EQing is a bit kak. i don't feel i have enough headroom to make the track sound present enought before it clips. i can take clipping but given that the midrange cant easily be dropped its a pain in the arse. good for a free update to a solid program but i dont think they can compete against dedicated plug-ins jingle |
