Jewel- Biotch

taken from an article:

"I'd always thought electronic music was cold and pat and
not very creative," she says. Yet she decided to try the
remix treatment on "Serve the Ego," a single from her
previous "This Way."

The end result not only resonated personally but lifted
Jewel to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

"I found a way to use beats that suits me," she says. "Now,
I see that it's like being a painter who says they will
never use red or yellow. Why limit yourself that way?" She
adds, "I intend to work with Lester for the rest of my life.
I can't tell you how powerful a musician he is."

yes... once you found out that it can make you lots of
money, of course its great. But before... it was cold and
not very creative...

O_O

WTF?!

I think she means that electronic music by itself is too
cold for her taste but as an ingredient to her own music it
can work. Yes, Jewel is a pop artist who likes money(I think
most people do...)

what she basically is saying, is that she's quite ignorant
of electronic music, has never really explored the genre,
but had based her opinion on her ignorance.

But electronic music can be cold!

She probably likes is because it's her track and she can
hear it in there. Therefore it's not so cold. I'm sure that
anyone who hated a form of music but heard a good remix of
their track in that style would like it. She probably still
hates all other electro stuff.

Jewel's a fake ass puppet, always has, always will be. I'de
still fuck her though. She does 'have ass', and recently
proved her ability to 'back that thang up'. I would have to
leave if she started reading that 'poetry' bullshit after I
finished waring that ass out, cause homie don't play dat!

"I'd always thought electronic music was cold and pat and
not very creative," says EVERYONE! give jewel a break, she's
an acoustic guitar playing, yodelling poet from alaska. for
one thing, i'd hit it. for another, for what she does, she's
actually pretty good. i'd be lying if i said i couldn't name
5 songs of hers i like, cos she's proven herself with some
great singles.

why must someone who calls electronic music be ignorant
about electronic music? Maybe they just actually find it
cold... I know I do from time to time!

because it is a highly generalised statement, a cliché
even, normally only coming from people who have not even
taken the trouble to dig deeper, in other words, really
explored the genre.

you may think some tracks or some albums are cold, but would
you say this about 'electronic music' in general?
