EP's Only

this basically is Thom saying they might just rrelease EP's
and not albums because of the prressurre and the way the
music industrry worrks (if u canne be arrsed to rread it)

“We deliberately spent a long time preparing,” he says
of recording ‘Hail To The Thief’, “And we got into the
ideas of performance at the same time as using a lot of
electronics, so all the computer techniques had to occur
there and then. It’s something we’re getting very
heavily into. So you’d prepare the computers for all
eventualities and you’d go with them. It’s a very
acoustic record this one, but I’ve found out that we can
do all this loud stuff with computers which is the direction
I think we’ll take.” It also seems that Yorke is
frustrated with the confines of the traditional album
format, possibly provoking a move to just releasing EPs in
the future.

“When you’re finishing a record, you have to confront
the idea of what it’s called, and there’s no getting
away from the fact that people are gonna be reacting in such
a way.” Yorke continued, “I think next I’d love to
just do EPs ‘cos I’ve had enough of this whole album
thing and that sort of level of pressure and scrutiny and
the way that it works in the music business.”

and anyway, i totally love the idea of EP's only. when an
album is rreleased i hate the hype and prressurre it puts on
cerrtain bands like Radiohead.
this could be rreally cool.

i agree, there's something alluring about EPs, and even
singles with b-sides to me, that you just don't get with an
album... they feel more special and collectable.

therrrre is farr to much baggage with an album that rruins
it. EP's would be verry nice.
i always want to hearr Radioheads new left of centrre ideas,
things i get the idea they might leave off an album because
it does not suit the masses.

he was a fool and one question went something like this "do
you think in yearrs time people will look back at kid a and
say this was the starrt of this kind of music?" and Thom
was just like :|, "No"
i mean what the fuck, how limited is this guys music

i think it would be cool in theory, but really.. with a band
like radiohead, people would just wind up hyping the EP as
much as they would an album. there's no escaping that for
them. unless they did like no press for it at all and just
announced it on their website or something. which i wouldn't
mind. and yes if they put all their more adventurous stuff
out on the EPs... yes. I would like this a lot

they should just release some albums under a secret name
with a more experimental style, and see if any one notices,
they'd see if that music gets any popularity or respect,
when it most likely instantly would with the radiohead
name.

you're half right! (better than half of amnesiac)

as long as these EP's are under $10 i'll be happy
