....WOW.......I'm speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone
else seen this amazing documentary??? I'd be interested in
hearing what Americans have to say about it.

yea i know, plus that whole "oil thing" and our funding the
taliban during the reagan years. i'm just wondering what
point moore is going to make. bush knew about 9/11? he's in
cahoots with muslim extremists? obviously not, but what's
the point of the film?

yeah, its really good.
it gets a little liberally narrowminded but is makes a very
intriguing observation as to the reason americans are so gun
crazy.
i'd like to watch it again

bfc was gun control propoganda. If canada has more guns
than the U.S., and 1% of the shootings, why is Michael Moore
so rightous to get the bullets out of Kmart? He also made
it seem like those gun nut militias are the ones who kill
people. How about touch the inner cities because that's
where a huge majority of gun homicides occur? Or would you
rather stick to "stupid white men"?

well you know George Bush used to be business partners with
Usama bin laden's brother -- probably a lot more that can be
researched and explored from there.

btw, I heard that 'the USA' changed Usama's name to Osama
because Usama has USA in it? anyone verify this?

offline wilcoooo from Sydney (Belgium) on 2003-06-15 12:21 [#00741610]

the Bin Ladens are still a business partner with the Carlyle
Group, and they have George Bush sr working there and some
other known politicians.
The Carlyle Group invests in weapon factories.

i'd argue that he was ignoring a sector of society (the
poorest minorities living in urban areas) because they're
conditioned into violence by many factors, whereas upper
class citizens, especially whites (who you have to admit
have an advantage in society) have no excuse for their
violence. totally different situations.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2003-06-15 17:43 [#00741999]

yea i know about the business connections between families..
there is a lot to say, but again: what point is moore
making? certainly not that the bush family and their allies
knew about or took part in the terrorist attacks in 2001?

i think a good point to make would be how involved the U.S.
has been in promoting terrorism, and this dates back to
castro in the '50s at LEAST. (not that castro is a
terrorist, but for all our bitching now, we did help get him
in power.) plus guatemala, chile, and lots of other
countries in central america, south america, the middle
east, and probably elsewhere.

It's funny how I liked it at first - a textbook example of
overlooking unethical behavior if it suits your political
agenda. And in general I agree with where he's coming from
on guns and social issues - but why does he have to be such
a lying manipulative truth twisting whore?

Soo? eventho it is a ten days waiting period or whatever it
is still fucked up hahahaha!! Buying guns at a bank =)

Well the whole thing where he's waving the dead kid's
picture at Charlton Heston reminded me of nothing so much as
the lunatics with bottled fetuses protesting at abortion
clinics. Sanctity of life my ass, right, when you can wave a
dead baby in someone's face to get your way by emotional
manipulation. Won't someone please think of the children -
and how their corpses can be used to our advantage -

I mean, if you want my respect, you are going to have to
have higher ethical standards than Rush Limbaugh and
that whole gang of dickpenises.

So what is your standpoint aperson ?
Michael Moore is evil ?

I don't care HOW he does it if you know what i mean. He is
doing good with his books movies and tv shows.
So what if he bends the truth a little bit , atleast he is
doing something.

just a little point to make. if the right-wing are so
correct on everything then why are they paranoid at what
Michael Moore is exposing. I mean, if they are so CORRECT
then surely they have nothing to worry about, right? Or
maybe they are scared that their totalitarian thinking is
being exposed and people are sick and fed up of downsizing,
of capitalism etc. I can't believe people even defend facist
bastards.

The extremist right, as do the extremist left, try to censor
any view that they do not agree with.

This is in no way what I am attempting to do. I am just
showing you how this 'documentary' can only be taken at face
value, nothing more. It's hard to believe someone who uses
subterfuge like posted in my above link.

how did you show us anything? what kind of research did you
do? cos you found some conversative columnist's essay on why
BFC sux0rZ it MUST be true? like they don't have an AGENDA?
if you can come up with your own, independently varified (as
in, hard proof) why this movie is "fake" i'll be persuaded.
i am NOT impressed by smear campaigns and i've yet to see a
compelling argument against the film and filmmaker i seem to
understand a lot better than most of you critics. it's
documentary and comedy and they don't cancel each other out.
life is funny, but not ha-ha funny (c) the eels.

Wait, so if it's not some indy-source that you seem to stick

how can you say that Bowling for Columbine is also not fake?

proof why it's fake, don't just link some article. what
proof do you have the article isn't what i say it is?
