"Yeah, I'm not really so sure about Aphex's new release.
Alot of the tracks sound really weak, well most of them
actually."
"You need to sit down and listen to double disc set as a
whole, each song strengthens."
"Yeah, never had to do that with any of his other
releases."
"If he wrote Windowlicker over and over, it would become a
bore."
"Sure, I agree, but Windowlicker and his other recent
releases are reflective of his growth as an artist, which
seems to peak with windowlicker. The structural complexities
of that ablum seem to be almost entirely lacking from this
drukqs crap."
"He is moving in new directions."
"Which all seem to be derivative, in a half ass manner. The
classical piano doesn't have much to it. Ever hear
Scriabin?"
"Cymbru beats, don't tell me you can possibly dislike
that?"
"Its decent in the same way Squarepusher's 'go plastic' is.
Too much the same way. Wait, maybe I should think Aphex Twin
is talented for usng more abstract seeming processing on
that track, than maybe what Squarepusher would done. No,
that doesn't make sense, I can think that after having seen
introductory Electronic Music students create almost
identical sounds using GRM plugins in protools."
"You're too fucking caught up in the music theory to enjoy
the athmosphere."
"Yes, that is how Mogwai became one of my favorite groups.
Wait, I suppose you're wrong."
"If the ablum is lacking anything its because of all of
those fucking mp3.com rip-offs who are raping his style with
fruityloops."
"Some of the music is actually pretty decent."
"Sure, but its not Aphex."
"No, its not. And?"
"..."

the two fictional voices travel, from their intellectually
stifling location in the United States, where they study
electronic music production, to a distant mountain top in
Europe. perched ontop of a rocky ledge is none other than
Richard D. James. they approach him slowly, so as not to
disturb him from his random patch relooper in Max/Msp. they
note how he cradles his laptop like a beloved child. aphex
twin turns, and wind rushes around the two students.
"DRUKQS" shouts Richard. the sound resonates through the
valley.

"we're sorry we understand now."
"i chase sheep around the country side in an armored pursuit
vehicle. my parents worked in a mental hospital. i had an
interview arranged at a spooky graveyard once, and another
time in a helicopter. i used to build my own equipment. one
time i didn't both remixing a shitte track, so i gave the
courier a dat filled with some unrelated crap." richard
falls silent. the two students leave.

"we now understand"

actually not. quit proclaiming this album to anything its
fucking not. you're like a bunch of morons rushing out to
buy the latest shitte the Backstreet Boys or Brittney Spears
has released.

'do you like scriabin's music?'
'no, his classical piano music has not much to it. ever
heard stravinsky?'
'no, but i love schoenberg's five orchestral pieces.'
'yeah, they are pretty decent. i like his chamber symphony
no.2 and pierrot lunaire, too.'
