THis is called time lag I think in evolution. When we were hunter gatherers, any time we perchanced upon something tasty like chocolate pop tarts (these were a common foraging item back then) it was to our benefit to eat it always. evolution didn't predict that we would have such abundant supply of such junk/sweet food toady.

That isn't poop. They are cookies.
The junk/sweet food toady was a giant toad that prehistoric people worshiped I think.

nah. the junk/sweet toady lived on the chocolate pop tarts.
it got quite mad at all the humans foraging his food, so they would attack them.
but being very tiny, the humans would just eat them - they were seen as a delicacy - tasting like highly concentrated chocolate pop tarts, although quite heavy calorie-wise.

I'm confused. did the humans attack the poptarts or the toady? And were the pop tarts tiny, or the humans?

oh dear.
*sigh*
LOOK. its pretty simple, OKAY?
the humans went out foraging for the chocolate pop tarts, which were a common foraging item back then.
these humans were of a normal size, maybe a few centimetres smaller than us, we just don't know. we just do not know this and we have to accept our hiatus in knowledge. we have to let go and move on.
the junk/sweet toady lived on those very same chocolate pop tarts. and YES! the junk/sweet toady was a very tiny toady. NOT AT ALL a large toady. NO!
now. when the humans would come a-lookin' for the chocolate pop tarts, the junk/sweet toadies would get miffed, to the point they actually got angry.
they tried attacking the humans. to clearify: the humans were MUCH, MUCH larger than the toadies. MUCH.
the attacks by the toadies were pointless, being that they did no damage at all to the humans.
the humans saw the toadies and ate them. just like that. life is a bitch and then the toadies died.
the toadies were quite delicious - tasting of concentrated chocolate pop tarts, seeing as they exclusively ate chocolate pop tarts.
that's it.
move along now.

Jeez, some people really do have an inability to read -- where did I say I liked skinny people? I said I liked a woman to have curves. Once again, we have people assuming if people don't like one extreme, then they MUST like the other: example: people assuming that because I dislike Obese persons, I MUST like skinny ones, even tho I already said I didn't... and the time I said I was anti-capitalist, and immediately got set on my some (american) rednecks calling me a communist.
And on the 'getting offended' issue, people are ALWAYS going to get offended by things, different things... if you're so sensitive that being down on obesity offends you, then that's your problem, not mine -- this hyper-sensitive society is wracked with insecurity, guilt and other psychologically damaging complexes... when people lose the ability to inject humour, even harsh humour, into serious subjects, then that's just too bad - personally, I side with Bill Hicks on this one - if you get offended, tough fucking luck -- use it as a tool to mend your hypersensitive ways.

in a way, I agree with you.
but its pretty hard to see on a msg board when someone is just fooling around or being serious.
and as you yourself said in the other thread, it was half serious replies and half joking ones. now you're letting it sound like it was all just fooling around.
thats a bit too convenient, I think.

not at all - that thread was half serious and half silly humour - even some of the silly humour disguised serious points, as comedy is famed for. I'm not for one moment saying that thread is pure silliness - but, it should be pretty evident when I'm being silly and when I'm making a serious point (or even both at the same time). Here's a hint for future endeavours - check how many '!!!'s I use in a post. That's USUALLY a good indicator

Whew, thanks for your rigorous clarifications on the history of the pop tart toadies. I guess the main confusion I had was that I thought of "the" toady as a single toady, perhaps some sort of monotheistic god. I did not realize that there were many toadies, as you did not refer to them in plural until later.
