The ability to reset someone's password; can this be
assigned to an individual user, w/o giving them admin
rights?

thanks

You mean in general or just on this board...either way it is
possible if someone wanted to do it.

The user should be able to change their own password in Win
2000 unless this feature is disabled by the
administrator(s).

sorry i should have been specific;

can a user reset other peoples passwords? for help desk
positions. ie, a user calls up, who forgot their pass, and
the help desk tech needs to reset their password, but the
tech is NOT allowed to have access to the admin account.

hope that helps clarify :P

Yes, you should be able to assign groups giving specific
permissions to specific things.
