This was a good show, much better than four tet was last week. one of the openers, nordic soul i think he was called, was pretty good. His stuff was kinda experimental techno noisy hip-hop with a very nice chill out vibe. he later joined funkstorung as an accompanyment, scratching vinyl and playing guitar. Funkstorung fucking pummeled the joint with beats so loud i could hardly see straight. They played a good mix of recognizable stuff and new/live mixes that were less recognizable. Lots of interesting effects tweaking going on but not enough to clutter the sound. Some of it got a little repetative and i wish they had played a bit more low energy stuff or had an MC for some of it but overall it was a great show. The relatively small crowd was deffinately into it. good mix of people from goth to hippies. Good beer on tap. good ventilation. Great show. |
