his tracks?

he uses a banana peel tied to a dishcloth, and he feeds that
through a bucket(with spade removed). for effects, he
imports chow chow dog fur and stuffs it up the earlobe of
his pet horizontal platapus Marmaduke and then hits it with
his willy. add salt to taste

he used cubase once (dunno if he does anymore) and raved
about the goodness of propellerhead's recycle in one
interview

recycle is a wicked piece of software. lets you cut up
sounds, specifically drum loops as multiple samples and
transmit them to a sampler via scsi or midi and sets up a
program (patch) on the sampler and spits out a nice midi
file to trigger them. it saves loads of time when using a
sampler. I use an AKAI S5000 sampler and recycle ver2, and
it has doubled (no joke) the productivity from the machine,
it saves so much time and effort!

i know recycle and i use it, it's great. you should try
Phatmatik Pro VSTi, it does the same things as recycle but
is more advanced. Read my thread about this software
here

yeah that looks cool, but although I DO use recycle to make
.rx2 for reason2, i MAINLY use it for use with my S5000
sampler. I'm not really a fan of VSTi's mainly because I
really can't stand using computers. Don't get me wrong they
save lots of time, but hardware is so much better, its
'tweakability' is better than any computer with an OXYGEN-8
attached!

offline AlbertoBalsalm from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2003-06-10 14:58 [#00735314]
Points: 9459 Status: Lurker

yeah, but that costs money unfortunatly, i don't have much
of it ATM. I want to buy Oxygen-8 or Ozone soon, Delta44 and
a faster CPU. that's a start...

offline AlbertoBalsalm from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2003-06-10 14:59 [#00735317]
Points: 9459 Status: Lurker

well ofcourse if i buy Ozone i won't need Delta44 because it
has a built in audio interface

looks like two technics 1210 decks. a laptop. not a mac.
problly his vaio. some xlr connectors/audio cables, some
flightcases and a green light....
the green light is essential to the setup of course, since
he modulates the frequency of the green light with the
wavelength of the red strobe light reflections of the
platter of the turntable to produce drill n bass when the
turntable is going at 45rpm and more mellow stuff at 33. 1/3
rpm
