Can anyone tell me where i can download the original drum
and bass/ jungle breaks that were used ages ago and have
been manipulated. Especially the one at the start of 'Come
on my Selector'

i cant for the life of me remember what that break is
called.. maybe clic or some other break expert will see this
thread and hook you up.

only other suggestion i have would be to go through and read
the descriptions and see if any sound like they might be
that one..

sorry i couldnt be of any more assistance, i can assure you
that the break can be downloaded from that website though.

u mean amen break .. then there's like a spiced up version
of the amen break as well [cannae remember what its
called].. think that was the most popular one jungle was
based off?

there's a good german site if you do a google search - has
all the classic break samples.

hes not talkking about amen i dont think.. the one murray is
talking about is the break at the beginning of coms.. s'got
a little vocal cut in there..

the amen break IS in that track though.. just not the one at
the beginning.

Are you not meaning 'The Apache Break'? Thats the only other
really classic one apart from 'Amen'

i've got a sample cd called, i think, jungle frenzy and it
has the break used at the beggining of come on my selector
with the high pitched voice and its called lynn, well
according to this anyway.

Those sample CD's often have so many different variations,
it could be anything... I just remember from reading about
Hip Hop and Jungle that the most used loops were Amen by
Amen Bros. and Apache by The Apache Bongo band or
something...

yeah, you could well be right, it may be something else. i
just checked on that site pomme posted and the come on my
selector break isnt apache, though apache is indeed a
popular one, and it doesnt list lynn in there, so who
knows?!!

think i'll stick with lynn till someone can prove otherwise

When you say 'lynn', do you mean the Lynn drum machine? It
was a classic machine like the 909 or the RX7...

nah, like i say, its what that break is called on that
sample cd, the break from the start of come on my selector,
its used a lot on the second track (the quick one) on 2
mixes by afx

I have come to make everything ok.

The Apache break is by Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo
Band.

The Amen is from Amen Brother by The Winstons.

'Lynn' refers to Lynn Collins, who did the track Think
(About It). The think break was used in It Takes 2 by Rob
Base.

The think break is not the break Murray is asking about.
