I feel woefully inequipped round here. No formal training in
any, though I would much like to learn the violin/cello.

dael - referring to your acoustic idm post (my mac doesn't
like the followup feature), i actually did a "live remix" of
central line from burningn'n tree (track 1) today. it came
out really good! i wanna post it up somewhere, i'm quite
proud of it!

otherwise, in chronological order (and these are instruments
i officially play, anything else i pick up i tend to figure
out):

piano
cello
baratone horn (euphonium)
guitar
drums
bass
any and all percussion
jaw harp (yee haw)
synthesizer

i played piano when i was little but hated it...in school i
have played trumpet for five years because we had one around
the house, but then i got the opportunity to switch to horn
in highschool and i took it, and i am still taking lessons.

i played some keybs when i was little. i have so small hands
it's really hard for me to play a normal sized piano. i know
music theory and sometimes i sing but i don't think i am
very good at it (there is a person on this mb who has heard
me sing). i should practice my voice more. i also played the
umm the other kind of flute is it recorder? for some time.
(not counting some force play in school). we have a violin
and i'm thinking of self-learning it.

I play the fuckin' axe. I took lessons for a couple years
and didn't really get anywhere... I never studied the theory
and the music reading part of it, but I had the same taste
as my guitar teacher, so he didn't mind my insolence.
Everybody else he taught wanted to learn Blink 182 and
Metallica riffs, but we'd jam to John Mayall's Bluesbreakers
and kind of ignore the ''lesson'' part of it.

Didn't make much headway technically, but it was fun to jam
every week with a guy that was AMAZING on guitar, he could
play anything note for note.

Violin is cool, but you need to be of a reasonably high
level before you can do cool stuff on your own rather than
playing as part of an ensemble or orchestra.
