Anyone know how to get an external synth to work on Cubase 2.4?
I'm trying to get an external synth, a Korg 05R/W, to work through the Soundcard. Any ideas?

I haven't got a clue how to get my Korg 05R/W to work through the Soundcard. Whatever I am supposed to be doing its just not obvious.
I used to use a direct PC to host cable so I could get my Korg module to work without it going through the Soundcard, but that link isn't working on this PC so I'm trying the other option.

you need to hook a midi cable from the midi out from the soundcard to the Midi in of the synth. Then, using the manual for the synth, find out the prgram number for each instrument. Then, in cubase select Midi Track and set the output to Midi Out and then change the program number to the particular instrument. Then it should work
