Tabs etc. do belong to the band just as much as the actual
recordings...

They make a healthy sideline from people like my brother who
buy the books of tabs, they see "fansites" that offer them
as infringing on this market.

Fair enough really IMO, I doubt few of the small bands who
perform a radiohead song cover when they play out pay the
10% commision they're legally obliged to...

Mind you, I think taking the lyrics down is a bit harsh as
they're oftn quite subjective anyway.

I agree man, but still, as you say, it is a bit harsh taking
lyrics down.

definately sign up for this, was about to post the same
thing but you beat me to it

what about all those lyric.com style sites with shit loads
of songs listed (surely they must have a heap of radiohead
too??) does this mean they have to do the same/got the same
email??

so stupid, i wish the big labels will wake up to the
potential of free marketing fan sites give and the internet
as a whole.

they also picked a way to popular act to attack the
fans..hehe

Thing is, Thom's said in the past that sometimes he's
forgotten lyrics, and actually used fan interpretations from
the internet. And Colin supposedly regularly browses
Atease.
If you check Ateaseweb.com, you'll see an email from
Stanley, in the news section.

This is not Radiohead's decision atall.
It's not even their label's fault.
Publishers suck.
