I just downloaded this movie. Holy shit this is a
disturbing and odd movie. I'm sure there is some artistic
meaning behind this but I apparently have yet to discover
that I think :s

Anyway, opinions?

The film felt like a nightmare to me, very dreamy, dark with
odd things happening which the characters seem to think is
normal (much like a nightmare)

Thats my opinion anyway, been a while since i've seen it
though, awesome film, one of my faves.

saw it too

pretty weird indeed :) all i know is that i kinda enjoyed
watching it, the whole atmosphere and mood of the movie is
great imo .. this dark and tragic environment and those
sounds/machine-noise you hear in many parts make it differ
from other movies
..as does the story itself, hehe

i don't know 'bout that artistic meaning either.. it's
pretty strange that's for sure

(fyi i'm d/l-ing 'lost highway' now :))

eraserhead is wicked... one of the finest american films
ever... as for the artistic meaning... you'd be hard pressed
to get David Lynch to admit to any one vision (or anything,
really)... but of course the film is very evocative of many
many threads... it's not to difficult to theorize about it;
applying symbolic values to different characters and actions
however... and i have my own theory on it... i'm also firmly
convinced that DJ Spooky's album Songs of a Dead Dreamer is
largely based on the work ... there are trace samples
littered throughout the album from the movie... and they are
certainly thematically linked... and i have to agree with
spooky on the dead dreamer tangent...

i've been obsessing over this movie for the past year - i've
heard so much good and so much "eeew" and it had intrigued
me to the point where i NEEDED to see it.

so i finally did last week, and it is everything i thought
it would be. i love the movie!!!

eXXailon: i think the baby's cry was more memorable than its
physical appearence
