My future roomate and I are planning on buying a next-gen
console next week (probably ps2) for our apartment. We want
to get some good multiplayer games that we can both enjoy,
but don't really know what the best are.

So I'de like suggestions from you gamers of some great
multiplayer titles out there right now. We love
first-person shooters (perfect dark is our all-time fav),
but any good games worth checking out would be appreciated.
Thanks!

were i u i'd go to gamefaqs.com there's a message board
which should allow u to talk w/ people who live on their
consoles, much better than the morons on here who live on
their computers

ok suggestion nr1: if you like FPS multiplayer games, go buy
a new PC cuz consoles and FPS aren't meant to be, unless
they come with a mouse and keyboard of course.

i love playing beat'em ups with my brother.

got Dead or Alive 2, Virtua Fighter 4, Tekken 4, Capcom vs
SNK 2, Guilty Gear X2...

GGX2 is my favorite, with Tekken 4 or VF4 as second.

NBA Street Vol. 2

even if you don't like basketball you'll love this game,
it's the NBA Jam of a new generation

I hear Timesplitters 2 is a really good multiplayer game
too.

tekken 4 is an absolute must of course (or tekken tag is
just as good if not better, loads more characters + a great
bowling mini game)

gran turismo 3 is great in 2 player too, providing one of u
isnt michael shumacher and the other doesnt know how to
brake.. if ur skillz are reasonably equal its a lot o fun

If you are looking to play multi over the internet, don't go
ps2, go X-box. 56k'ers lag the servers on ps2 up. Plus X has
Ghost Recon, Unreal Championship, Return to Castle
Wolfenstien, and other X-box live compatible games. But if
you have a 56k connection only, then i guess all I said can
be disregarded.

war of the monsters
burnout 2
quake 3

it seems that alot of the great multiplayer games came out
on the original playstation though.
