What new albums are you most looking forward to now?

For me it's the new Radiohead... I've only heard the single
There There, but I love it... can't wait for the album!!
When is it out again, middle of June or something?

Hail to the Thief and Nymphomatriarch and also whatever
Boards of Canada come up with next.

here're my answers!

but to narrow it down to a few: radiohead and mogwai on june
9th (haven't heard a single song from either and i'm so
glad), dead prez, lfo, outkast, pharoahe monch, and
lifesavas this summer, zack de la rocha this fall, and
rakim, esthero, mos def, tortoise, telefon tel aviv, and
jega sometime this year! =)

I'd love to hear some new Jega... Spectrum didn't interest
me much, but Geometry is fantastic!!

and I see NIN on your page too, Travis.

hope he goes in the direction of Still - I kind of
liked that electro-acoustic sound.

The_Funkmaster > June 10th. and apart from one or two tracks
maybe ('I Will'...), i find it great! 'Backdrifts', 'The
Gloaming', .....

any new NIN or Fluke would be great.

i didn't include nin because i know a guy that worked @
nothing studios for a few months this year and he said
NOTHING is going on there, quite literally. so i should
revise my page because some of that stuff, especially
anything related to nin, i don't expect to come out this
year.

check out the Doom 3 info. it changed. trent's contributions
may not be used now because he's out of the project (it was
taking too long). the next thing we'll hear from trent,
besides the peter gabriel "growing up" remix which i've had
for 2 months now (it comes out commercially next month),
will be his contributions to zack de la rocha's album, which
is finished (more insider info).

as for new nin, he can't come up with any lyrics, and alan
moulder (producer) won't work with him until he does. plus
his collaborators are all gone, almost all of them forever
(danny lohner is the exception, though apparently he and
trent aren't on the best terms right now). so that kind of
washes away our hopes for an album similar to 'still', which
contains much of trent's best work.

the new material trent has described as violent minimalist
synth music. richard devine has been hired to assist with
some programming but he has yet to actually record with
trent. so i can offer an analogy of the recording style of
PHM and some of TDS with the aggression of Broken.

thanks for the information, you have a full basket of it, i
appreciate the still cd, but would not want it to be the
next "official album". i think both the fragil and the
downward spiral are excellant examples of his work, pretty
hate machine was an era in electronic that we wont see any
time soon, and not to forget the best eps (ever made) mixed
into the discography.

*why am i afraid that the new janes addiction will have 2 or
3 great songs, and the rest will blow blow blow :0(

Snares' "Candy Raver" LP, Fennesz' "Venice", Smojphace, new
Arovane (soon! please!), and i'm also expecting good things
from whatever Team Doyobi puts out next (although i have no
idea when this will happen... hopefully soon)

i want to see more laptop "jam bands" like fenno'berg (check
their albums if you haven't already)... how about a Keith
Fullerton Whitman, playing with Jan Jelinek and maybe have
Tortoise's John McEntire do the drumming? i think it'd be
great to watch the electronic scene develop a more
improvisational branch... with such projects... more like
Jazz... because when you think about it, jazz and electronic
music share a lot of aesthetic qualities (i'm not going to
qualify this assertion... )

Elbow - Cast of Thousands

Their first album is, in my opinion at least, one of the
most beatifully crafted pieces of music ever. Therefore,
anything else from them must be a good thing.
