a DAMN fine series, I must say.

I bought the first season on dvd and I must say, I'm blown
away by it.

pretty marvelous, especially Federal Bureau of
Investigations Special Agent Dale Cooper.

I'm up to episode 2 now.

its like a really good book - I only watch an episode now
and then, really savour it. (plus the 2nd season will
probably not come earlier than octobre).

it's not that any particular patch is bad or good, but there
are some lame story lines... like when James leaves town,
and anything to do with Nadine... just stupid.... but the
show is still priceless... i love Ben Horn, and Bob, and
Agent Cooper... and, well, most of the characters really...
David Lynch is really cool

When i hear "Come To Daddy (little lord Faulteroy mix)" i
always think of Twin Peaks , especialy that last episode.
It has the same humorus yet freaky vibe.
I imagine the Dwarf singing the boy voice and the giant
singing the lower mongoloid voice hehe! (it would make a
cool video)

Twin Peaks is the greatest thing to ever grace television.

When Lynch left the show in Mark Frost's hands while he went
off to do Wild At Heart, thats when the show got crap
(Nadine in high school, Evelyn Marsh, Little Nicky the
orphan, etc). But Lynch returned to save it in it's final
moments (the series finale ROCKS).

How's Annie?

Hehe... no spoilers, the dude's only on the second
episode!!!

The film is great too, but the first 40 minutes is far
better than the rest. Roll on the uncut dvd....

The final episode is Lynch's revenge on Frost, he was like
"you wasted my series to build up all this bullshit?! i'll
crush your sand castle" and it all went BOOM :D

Yeah Lynch is one of my fav directors..
he's a genious.
It's also cool that "wild at heart" feels like Twin Peaks in
a lot of ways, even the music is very similar (and a few
actors are the same).

In what way was Twin Peaks personal for Lynch?
I'm gonna buy the DVD myself... Lynch is, like I wrote, one
of my fav.

Btw anyone know why (I already know how) "Lost Highway" is
constructed (the story) the way it is?

Great Northern waitress pours Agent Cooper's coffee.

Cooper: Wait a minute! Wait a minute!

This is--excuse me--a DAMN fine cup of coffee.

You can do the stem trick? Excellent, bet that's been
requested at a few parties ;)

You should definitely get the dvd - the extras are generally
not that good but the transfer is stunning. Make sure you
get the European version if you can play region 2's, cause
the US set doesn't include the pilot.

yup yup definately a cool PARTY trick to have at the
ready.......ahhahahh

btw......thats so odd, why doesn't the US version have the
pilot.....thats the KEY to that series, i have to have that.

i wonder if US DVD's can play region 2.....hummmm i'll look
into it. maybe i'll take a short jaunt to canada and see
what they have up there. i get a lot of my DVD's from there.
=0)

thanks for the tippage!

yeah I have the european package (obviously..). I think the
extra's are pretty good.

I love the music thats under the menu's on the dvd's
(menu's look great, btw - you can always see if a bit of
money has been spent on a set if the menu's look good).

and I love Badalamenti's music in general. I only
have the Lost Highway OST and Mulholland Drive. I downloaded
the "City of Lost Childeren" OST too.

there's a nice interview with Badalamenti on the extra's
disc in the European set of Mulholland Drive.

I think the US version don't include the pilot cause it's
sold seperately...
But yeah, the pilot was what made me stick to the show from
the start til the end...
I think the show was good "enough" til they (coop and the
gang) found out who murdered Laura Palmer... Then it got
pretty uninteresting with uninteresting stories... But it
had to go on, since the "evil" had not been caught.
The whole feeling of the show changed after that though...
The ending... I think the last episode is good compared to
the ones that came before it...
Though "Mulholland Drive" is my fav Lynch work. It's good,
actually excellent and stunning, from start til the end.
Awesome film.

Well... not sure I made myself clear...

The movie has a certain theme... We had a discussion about
this at school when we had some englishman coming over, and
he showed us how the movie loops into itself (don't know
what that form/figure is called).
I've only seen it once myself, so I haven't analyzed it, but
I'm sure it has to do with the theme or something...

tibbar - for me its a toss up between that episode and the
one where the audience learns who the killer is...

Key_Secret: I think the term you are looking for is a
"Mobieus Strip". Check out this site for a decent analysis
of LH...

"Mobieus Strip" > yeah that sounds right! like if you take a
strip of a paper and connects it to itself, not like it
becomes a loop, but that it becomes something with only ONE
side...
thanks for the link, but I was only curious about this
question and would like to analyze the movie myself, in the
future.
But thanks! =)

Psychosis Fugue, or something similar, was how Lynch
described Lost Highway... I love that film, it's far far
better than the uninteresting and done to death dross that
was Mullholland Dr.

it has everything you could ask from a lynch movie.

Jarworski: Psychogenic Fugue, and Lynch himself said he had
never even heard of the term/state until after the film was
released.

What Lynch has said though is that the OJ Simpson stuff
going on at the time influenced him greatly as far as LH's
story.
