FL4 Bug

offline Junktion from Northern Jutland (Denmark) on 2003-05-28 07:23 [#00717875]

I have encountered a very stupid bug in Fruityloops 4.
When reopening a previous saved track where I have used
soundfonts, all the soundfonts are returned to the default
(the nineteen soundfont). This sucks arse!
I haven't made anything for the last 2 weeks, cuz FL keeps
fucking up the soundfontplayer, which I use a lot.

Anybody else that have encountered this error?

ah well...I have been practicing more with my bass since
that bug started crapping on my projects, so some good came
out of this. But the release of my new (net)EP may be pushed
:(

fuck! ...was kinda hoping that it was my sucky-systems
fault....damn ...wonder if it's a
"because-you-didnt-pay-for-it"-bug :o.
Hope a fix will come out, cause the program really rocks...

I maintain my "once I've made money using it, I'll register
my copy" code of conduct ;)

I really admire Ohm Force for their license agreement. Far
more reasonable than expecting "hobbyists" to pay £100s for
software.

I don't think I'd really use any of the special "producer
edition" shit they put in there to tease me.

With much higher sys requirements than 3.3-3.5.

yeah ...unfortunatly...but they have made a FL-system that
can be used for small-studio use better than the previous
editions...especially the fact that you have less bounderies

It's dope. I like it, but they changed some things which
means I have to fix some old songs (I do dodgy things in FL)

yes me too...but I dunno...if I open FL3-tracks in it, I
will probly try to remix the song anyway (but I can't
because of that FUCKING SOUNDFONT-BUG!)

I regularly (ie most weeks) have to port songs from 3.3 to 4
and sometimes they are quite different and require a bit of
"fixing" :)

I actually think it's quite healthy to do that...old songs
get looked at again, and you give them a little pep! :)

Fuck I got that problem too!!

FL 4 fucks the soundfonts! Please someone help us, a new
version somewhere?? 4.1?

It comes from either loading old tracks in to render then to
.wav again or (more frequently) continuing work on tracks I
started at the weekend on my machine in Wales that runs 3.3
(no chance of it running 4 at any sort of reasonable
quality...)

I've experienced sortof the same stuff... when I use VSTs in
Buzz, once I open a track all VSTs have their default
preset...

That's not much to complain about, since I only use a
couple, maybe max 5 of them in each track, and I only have
to save my preset and load it the next time I open the
track...
But it's kinda the same, and 19 seems a lot...

Yep, softsynth patches not being saved is a pet hate of
mine... I thought the point of "all in one studio software"
was that when you opened a file all your fx, synths etc. had
the right presets on them? If you have to set it up
manually each time it's nearly as bas as hardware!

yeah - i had the same problem - its because of the pirated
version of FLSTUDIO 4 you got - there is another version
floating around the net that doesnt have the problem - but
itll be hard to find - i have it in my shares on slsk if
anyone wants it

i think you'll find that the sound font player is just a
demo? maybe?

im pretty sure it was only a demo in the older versions.

try searching for a full version of the sound font player.

you can save the softsynth patches by saving them within the
softsynth itself... well... the some of the vst ones i have
i can... and the soundfont thing does suck, but as long as
you've got all your soundfonts in the menu to the side it
takes about 10 seconds to fix it... not a huge deal

i tried to register me for the full lifetime upgrades, but
the system from them is shit, they didn't accept my
master-card. warp does.

and there are much more dumb bugs in floops, like the amount
modulation of the send effects, they will be erased if you
put new effects on it....

it's NOT a demo (and I have the full standalone version and
have tried to install it to fix this bug, but the result is
still the same)

yes it is ....some of my soundfonts have different
soundbanks which also reset with this. And at one point for
instance I had 4 of the same soundfonts with different
banks, and they all got erased...
