the first game for the original Game Boy was Tetris, if that's the real no-bullshit Tetris you're referring to.
if you're lucky enough you could buy a GBA and somehow buy the Tetris for the old Game Boy, since GBA plays old Game Boy games too.

Yep that's the best way... if you want to play it without an emulator, best way is to buy a 2nd hand GBA (quite cheap now GBA SP is out) and a copy of the original GB tetris (always a copy of this in second hand stores :) ).
I know you said the original tetris, but if you like this sort of game, you might like fortress on the GBA too.

Alexey Pazhitnov creates Tetris on an Electronica 60 at the Moscow Academy of Science's Computer Center in June 1985. The first game only had a 4 colors and a 320 x 200 resolution.
