Saw this film last night. I don't understand the acclaim
that it has been receiving. Eminem cannot act. He's more
wooden than kevin costner. The plot was non-existent. The
dialogue was lame. It's only saving grace was eminem's rap
at the climax of the film and Brittany Murphy. If Eminem
hadn't starred in it, it would have been a straight to video
movie.

Hackeyned plot (why remake Rocky?) and a stunning lack of
direction from Hanson (this guy made LA Confidential??!?)
but yeah the rapping at the end just about saved it from
being completely dire. MnM was alright, he didn't act just
played himself really.

Question is, would you still bang Basinger?

The one good thing about the DVD release is that it has a
documentary of all the rap "battles". It is actually quite
entertaining. It's worth renting it out for that alone. In
fact rent it out, watch the documentary and don't watch the
film. That's my recommendation. I'll give it a 2.

its lameass
its exactly like an 80's movie i kept expecting a breakdance
battle or them all to don leg-warmers and break into a
rousing rendition of "fame!" but they just rapped instead,
how phresh....
eminem had like 1 facial expression throughout the entire
movie, this is not acting!

oh yeah that movie is absolute crap...and you can't really
even tell if eminem can act since he says two lines through
the whole thing.

I thought it was shit. I wanted a fucking refund.

Had no story to it. The whole movie was like in one week. It
was just shit. I thought it was supposed to be like a life
story type thing, not just a week of boring events leading
up to him winning some gay rap contest.

Like he deserves a friggen movie made about him anyway, or
did he direct it etc himself? I think there'll be a sequel.
The record companies need more money to make off the dumb
shits that go watch it.

I really liked the film, and I'm not a big fan of Eminem at
all.

The last rap in the end of the film is what made it, but I
think it has more poignnance(?) after seeing the rest of the
film, which may not appeal to everyone, but got it's themes
across to me very well.

Whether Eminem can act is irrellevant to me, as it obviously
wasn't a hard reach for him to act the role. but I enjoyed
the whole conflict, and I believe it's one of those movies
where if you didn't like it, doesn't neccasarily make it a
bad film.

(Sorry for the spelling mistakes.)

i thought this was going to be about the movie the shawshank
redemption where the main character has to crawl through
miles of shit to escape from prison..

the thing about the movie is that it should have been either
based on eminem or NOT based on eminem...not half way.
anyhow, he has plenty of his life to fuck up before they do
his life story, so it was really a lose lose situation.
