heheh, sounds like the soundtrack to a tom&jerry cartoon, if tom&jerry were robots....
not something I'd listen to a lot, but i like the background noises, and that bit at the end where it sounds like hitting-glasses :D

sounds like the bass drum is a bit too loud. I can tell you we're kinda going for this subdued melody/autechre kinda thing, but I think its too loud. Nice ending. I kinda agree with my little sister on the cartoon thing.

Yeah, very subdued melody on the track... can barely hear what's going on with the ambient parts, melting into each other quite a bit.
A lot of the effects are well implemented, the chromatic snare in the background, etc.
I think, and take it how you will, the brilliance behind aphex twin and squarepusher is their ability to take an idea and play off it not longer than keeps it interesting, then moves on. Like a jazz musician.
That in mind, I'd like to hear some of the ideas worked on in the piece. You have some little percussive melodies that are quite interesting, but don't come out, dropping the energy of the track. Maybe try thinking of the song from idea to idea... phrasing, the classical term for it if you're familiar. I like the phrase at the very end, would like to see that developed some
The drum sounds get repetitive for me, partially because of the mastering, the metallic sounds are in the front of the soundscape and the higher hats, once in a while the snares.
These are the kind of reviews I'd like to see on my tracks, but what can ya do... I'll check out the other track tomorrow and give my feedback

checking woozy
yeah this is a bit different. i can see the idea behind the rhythms, but i think it might need a few more out-of-time elements to sustain a groove
i find the overall feeling a bit flat at present
samples are nice. yeah just a bit more 'accidental' stuff would offer more to me as a listener

mendmyrat
im liking this more :) the harmonies quite amuse me.. combined with the restricted samples in the percussion.. which itself gets thrown around nicely in places.
yeah the harmony and the quality of the synth have made this song for me :D what a laff!

Its cool! I like it!
What are you using for a programs and machines ?
Your main melody sounds like a molested TX81z : ) (Or really any Yam DX/TX line synth). I like it!

Hi thanks for listening everyone. Yup I agree about the bass drum...what happened was, I started working on this track in Reason and I produced a wave file of an early version (which I normally do because for some reason the volume levels I hear in Reason aren't what ends up on the track.)
Anyway I do the file and Reason crashes so I loose all the work. So the one file I have is all there will ever be of this track :( Ah well.

Mastering in Reason is really, really, really, really difficult to do well. You get the same sort of sound no matter what you do, and it's always way below the levels you expected, even if you play it off good speakers
Have cubase or logic or protools or cool edit... etc, etc? Might be a good track to do some wave splicing/pasting with while you remaster

Yep I am just getting into using logic. I have about 5 minutes worth of additional drum programming after the track on the original wav file minus the bass drum, kind of like the stuff at the very end of the track. I think I will use that. :P
