perfect songs

offline sadist from the dark side of the moon on 2003-05-26 08:04 [#00715127]

when i listen to a song, i often think about it like this:"
there could be another snare rush here" or "the volume of
this thing could be higher", or i even make a remix of it in
my mind.

but there are a few (or even many) i can't say that. two
that are coming to my mind at the moment:

vordhosbn
gantz graf

what are your favourites ?

The only perfect songs I can think of are Beatles tunes.

We Can Work it Out
Ticket to Ride
Norweigan Wood
Eleanor Rigby
Hey Jude
You Won't See Me
Let it Be
Two of Us
Fool on the Hill
Strawberry Fields Forever
I am the Walrus
Nowhere Man
I'm Only Sleeping
Penny Lane
In My Life

I can't imagine these songs getting any better, there's not
one second of downtime or one useless note. Every other song
in history can be improved except these.

Except maybe Satisfaction and some Pet Sounds tracks... and
for IDM, I always thought Come to Daddy was as beautifully
realized track as there's ever going to be.

Maybe even Rain and Paperback Writer (by those 4 guys). So
underrated even I never think of them.

all of those, and I'd add 'God Only Knows'(on Pet Sounds)
and 'Surf's Up'(on Surf's Up) by the Beach Boys...

DEFINITELY God Only Knows, yeah... Sir Paul himself agrees.
And Don't Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder).

And ALMOST Caroline No, except I always felt it was too
short or something, and there's a useless saxophone line in
there. Perfect? Close but no cigar!

I don't think like that cause to me the music I listen to is
art and I wouldn't wnat to change a thing. Like looking at
paintings, I wouldn't dare think of they should of put more
color there or changed that shape. It's what the artist
wants you to heear, to know... so it'd be lame to think of
it any different.
