I mean the music guy, and not the province... although I'm
sure the province is all well and good!! :)

I have one of his albums, Up In Flames, and I must say it's
real nice... very summery, happy, and upbeat... I especially
like Hendrix in Ko, Jacknuggeted, Kid You'll Move Mountains,
Crayon, and I've Lived on a Dirt Road All My Life!!

what is his first album like? Is it similar to this one?

someone on this MB told me they were 'like' BoC, but the
tracks i d/l'd suckORZ.......so i can say i gave it a try,
but found it to be just too hippish? is that a
word.......sounding for my tastes.

sounded old school....what i mean by that, is dated.....like
from the 60's...or what i imagine the 60's to sound
like......ahhahah

nod, this whole album sounds like that... like old
psychadelic rock... but I love it!

up in flames is really good

his first album is way different.. like more electronic.
kinda dancey even.
but it's good too.

i like his music a lot!
i have both albums + ep/single give'r; there isnt really
much difference between these releases, all three are nice
organic electronica

you might want to try out four tet, if you dont know him yet
- very much alike manitoba

"there isn't really much difference"???
"Start breaking my heart", the first one, is way more
electronic. It's indeed like Four Tet. I really LOVE this
album. I d/l-ed Up in Flames, and i just didn't like it.
There are a lot of rock-influences, it's nothing like his
first cd. I prefer the first one, definately.....

so, i gues there is much difference

hmm...hmm, i dont know why "up in flames" is not considered
electronica (it is a bit more guitar sounds, but it still is
electronica IMO)...its pretty much the same style as "start
breaking my heart"

four tet and manitoba are making very simmilar music - all
of their releases have that certain sound to it...its almost
impossible to confuse them with any other artists...one can
totally tell that the "start breaking my heart" and "up in
flames" were made by the same guy...that makes them alike
IMO

yeah, if 'up in flames' is a summer album, then 'start
breaking my heart' would be winter

but not in a bad way.. its just as gorgeous
