11:00pm probably eastern time.

THE J FILES - APHEX TWIN!
- Thursday, 22 May at 11:00pm
Englishman Richard D. James makes very twisted and disturbed
music under the moniker of Aphex Twin. With the recent
release of all his major remixes onto a double CD ("26 Mixes
For Cash"), The J Files will look back at this electronic
music pioneer.

Hahahah they even have a govenrment funded uni radio station
in this town called RTRFM that fuckign owns. Every two weeks
when my mate DJs he plays my tracks and then spams my
website and also spams it in the mailing list.

Which is pretty fuckign cool, coz I haven't uploaded any new
tracks in months and I'm currently at number three in the
ALL category of mp3.com.au!!!

crazy shit.

yes, radio owns.

I've been waiting years for a J Files special on RDJ...
Richard Kingsmall will do an excellent job with this show!
:)

I'll surely be taping it

Fcuk that's cool. I didn't think jjj would do something like
this, but then again, thay have done fank zappa and captain
beefheart j-files, both of which were very cool.

Wonder if they'll play any of his harder to find stuff. And
interviews? Damn I hope there are interviews.

Yeah, it wasn't great....

Still, I recorded it all onto two 60min TDK cassettes. Was
listening to it all day at school.

Even if there's no new stuff, it's still nice to hear it on
the radio.

i think it was funny all the mistakes in the show.. like how
ab4 was supposedly extremely rare until about a month ago..
hehe i bought it last year and have seen at least 1 copy in
most of the cd shops i've been to..

That really pissed me off...

I felt like chucking my abb3 cd at them and saying, "You
think that's rare? Check this!"

Then I'd crank up track 4.

I wanted them to play Polynomial-C, as well. I didn't
request it, but still they should've known! It's a classic!

offline Toejam from Perth (Australia) on 2003-05-23 03:40 [#00711022]
Points: 3077 Status: Regular

btw: did you guys notice how triple-j automatically levels
the sound on each track to avoid loud outbursts?

like when the beat comes in during On, it's sort of noisy?
They changed it so that it sounds the same as the rest of
it.

offline princo from Shitty City (Geelong) (Australia) on 2003-05-23 06:09 [#00711129]

Yeah, most radio stations have compressors so they'll make
everything the same level so the loud stuff is quiet and the
quiet stuff is loud.

They played alot of the melodic side of aphex twin, nothing
really abrasive and hard.
